3.0 Bitsa and a couple of others

Post by Wideboy »

I've been a member on here for a while and thought its about time I uploaded a couple of piccies of my 3.0 and a couple of other Capris that live at mine.

I thought I'd cover everything In 1 Go :D

The White 1 is a 1978 3.0 Ghia painted up as a 3.0s (Thats how it came to when I bought it)

Here's a video of it on a Rolling Road at Dax Cobra open day 2011 a couple of months after I got it.
It was running with Modern 15" rims at the time but I have since changed them out for a set of Superlights

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqJYk9FpvRQ

Its a bit of a Bitsa but does the job
Its got a 5 speed conversion (Recently done at Tickover)
Sportex Exhaust (Wouldn't have another one it drones too much at Motorway speeds)

Tinted rear windows
It's quite a tint but its not as dark as the Limo tint people tend to use
Didn't come out too bad a few small bubbles and wrinkles on the tailgate
but nothing standing 10ft away won't cure
The quarters were dead easy, just took them out cleaned them up
The tailgate was taken off and laid flat
It was a bit bright for the piccies but I had a go

14" EdelBrock Air Filter and Strut Brace

MK4 Escort RS2000 Recaro's
I was lucky enough to pick up some Fishnet Headrests Battlesbridge a couple of shows ago for £25 however they were a couple of shades of grey away from matching

Fishnet compared to original

So I had a quick trip to Halfords and picked up some grey paint and gave them a dust over.
It was never going to be a 100% match has the Escort trim is a grey with darker fleck
Here's 1 done and 1 not

Dusted over next to original

1 done 1 not

Both done

15x7 Superlights.

My Son also has a Ratted 2.0 Pinto with Twin 45s and Carlos Fandango Wide Wheels

Its never gonna win a beauty contest but he is doing what he wants.

We're also got a 2.8 That again has been painted up as an Orange "S" before we got it.
It was bought as a non runner.
We're got it running and through an MOT but is still a pig to start and sometimes runs like an old dog so there's plenty of head scratching and work to do

Funny enough the White 1 did came from Bristol but I bought it about 4 years ago.

The Orange 1 I picked up just after Christmas from a guy local to me in Harlow who'd had a about 3 years.
It had been off the road in his garage for 12-18 months as a non-runner
There was a couple of other Orange "S" reps that came on ebay about the same time

Hi Andy,
The Wideboy's orange 2.8 is not the Bristol one. That was an x reg 4 speed, and not as nice as Wideboy's.

All the best,

OK coincidence then

Have seen your Youtube clip before sounds nice despite droning at higher speeds :D

Get Janspeeds on it at some point :applaud:
