Hi there,
New to the forum, just purchased a 83 Mk3 2.0 in need of some TLC...
Overall not in bad nick but I'm sure as I dig in it'll show its true colours, apart from a few usual bodywork bits it's had a 3 colours in its life! Started as silvery blue to yellow to red, all bad jobs!
Hello!
Re: Hello!
Welcome to the forum. Looks a nice project, is it a four speed and where are you from?
All the best
Neil

Re: Hello!
Hi Neil,
Thanks, from Cork in Ireland, its a 5 speed.
Yes it'll keep me busy for the winter(s!) but looking forward to getting stuck into it.
Just getting to know the car and sort a few smaller bits before going head first into it!

Re: Hello!
Hi,
As Neil Says, welcome to the forum.
I'm sure you'll find all the answers you need to all your Capri questions, right here on the forum.
I like your Capri, and the wheels finish it off a treat.
Just out of curiosity, are classic cars in Ireland allowed to have silver on black reg. plates? Over here, Capris, except the very earliest ones, are too modern to be allowed to display them.
All the best,
Andrew.

Re: Hello!
Hi Andrew,
Yes seems a great place with great knowledge already!
Yes, if a car is a classic (30 years + and pre 87 I think) then yes they are acceptable! Personally I much prefer them to white plates!

Re: Hello!
I personally would define Mk1s Mk2s and Eraly Mk3s as classics , late Mk3s like 2.8i specials or the 280 Brooklands are retro
