My mates Escort Cabby shattered it's wheel bearing going to Classic Ford a few years ago, and we got the AA truck all the way home on the Sunday, it was much more comfortable

About half the fuel you thought
Works out around 25 miles per gallon.
Goes to show a 4 speed V6 can be quite economical if driven sensibly.

Glad you had a pretty uneventful drive. Shows how good your restoration & preparation was prior to this trip. Car looks amazing, next to modern cars they look tiny, like they're on a different scale
. Enjoy your (and the Capri's) new home.

Looks great, and maybe a less tidy Capri for our non dry days would be a good idea..... You have the room
P.S. RS Day at Litte Bodieve Holiday Park Wadebridge is on June 17th. Hope to be there myself with the XROC

Glad your trip went well, its amazing how tiring constantly scanning the gauges, listening for noises & even smelling for fumes or hot brakes etc
Strangely on a run like that I have got 30mpg out of the lazy auto in my 3.0 Ghia, at a steady 70-75mph on the speedo clock but as the sat nav says its a constant 10% optimistic whatever the speed
Enjoy your new home for you & the Capri
