Hi Mel,
Welcome to the forum.
Superb work!
When you put it back together it's going to be better than new.

Hi,
Your zinc plated parts look amazing.
Did you do the zinc plating yourself? If so, what plating equipment did you use?
All the best,
Andrew.

Re: newbie here from oldham
Sorry Andrew megga late reply a company near me does it for me cheap,
I've not done nowt for months, but made another start ,took headlining out, wiring loom out, I'll check the loom and retape it ,I've baremetalled the prop etch primed it and on inspection it looks as though the prop was black but the ends and a few other bits were a cast colour and a few bolts were light blue,so me being me ,I think the loom needed to come out ,botched over the years ,then thought balls to it might as well take the dash out job done,I'm prepping the floors and repainting them this week, pics to follow cheers mel

Looking good there. It's going to be a stunner when you've got it all back together.
I'm North Manchester - do you mind sharing where you had the zinc plating done, if you'd recommend them?
Do you have a new headlining or just take your old one out carefully? I've got to get a new one for mine because it ripped

Hi,tazla wrote:on inspection it looks as though the prop was black but the ends and a few other bits were a cast colour and a few bolts were light blue
In case you weren't aware, the blue paint on the bolts indicates that they are high tensile grade 10.9. Worth knowing if you're replacing them with new ones and are repainting them to match the originals. It's best to replace them with an identical grade, not 8.8 or stainless bolts.
Keep up the good work, the bits and bobs are looking good!
Andrew.
