Hi,
Good advice from Mike there. Personally, I do use an additive but plenty of owners don't and manage just fine.
I will point out that Miller's VSPE additive also protects against the effects of ethanol in petrol, which could be considered a greater risk to the wellbeing of your car.

I'm with Andrew on this. The additives do give the engine and fuel system a bit of extra protection against the modern petrol, which is no bad thing on a fuel injection Capri.
Also I looked into unleaded conversion when I was rebuilding my heads and was advised against it due to problems with the head cracking where the seats are fitted. Time will tell if I have made the right decision :)

All the best

Thanks for that guys I really appreciate that and I will go for the Super Unleaded and see how it goes.
When I bought my car a couple of weeks ago I bought it without any test which can be a worry but I put her through her MOT yesterday and the examiner said that she was mint and the only fault was that the dashboard lights were slightly dim but he passed her with flying colours :drive:

Ronan,
Great news, it's always a relief to get an MOT pass, especially on a car you've recently bought. 8-)

Wow that looks great and so detailed.
I think that I am going to have to invest in a Haynes manual. Once again thanks for all your help.

Hi Ronan,
If you're going to be performing maintenance and servicing jobs yourself, I can highly recommend a Ford Capri Workshop Manual published by Brooklands Books.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ford-Capri-Work ... hop+manual

It has extra detail and information that the Haynes doesn't cover, and vice versa, so it's definitely worth having both manuals.

All the best,
Andrew.

Hi folks I'm looking a bit of advice.
I am going to replace my exhaust as there are a couple of small blow outs but nothing too serious but my question is, Do I replace with the standard exhaust or go stainless steel?
My wee car is still unmolested so I am tempted to go standard in keeping with the car but a friend said that due to doing low miles the moisture will get to it.
What do you think? :banghead:

Hi Ronan,
Personally, I would go stainless because they sound better and last longer than a mild steel system. Just go for a relatively small bore tailpipe that won't be too much of a departure from the standard look.

All the best,
Andrew.

Definitely Stainless as Mild will rot with not a lot of use.
Here is a link for an O/E Spec System http://www.ccw-tools.com/product.asp?st ... re+Details
Or they do this Performance System too http://www.ccw-tools.com/Stainless-Stee ... 472-26017/

I had these guys do a system for my XR3i and they are Excellent Quality and Fit.

That's a new one on me,
Get yourself a Janspeed with 2 inch outlets you'll not regret it,

Dave.

I know I found it hard to believe when I did some research but the Moisture builds up and that's it....

Janspeed 100% IMO, but £200 more expensive.
