I was checking out the Capri Wiki and I thought I recognize that car :o It has a fairly distinctive number plate and I remembered the vinyl roof wasn't standard. Then I just had to work out which post I'd seen it in :?
I'd be quite pleased if my car was featured on this site :D

As wiki pages can be edited by anyone, can you just add a photo of your car to the site, should you wish?

Hi,
Unfortunately, your link doesn't quite work correctly. It's not hard to navigate to the correct page from the link though.
Here's the link to the Essex engine wiki:

All the best,
Andrew.

Nice one! Did you notice much wrong with the mounts you removed? I was thinking of fitting a new gearbox mount on mine to see if it improved things.

Cheers I think I'll definitely change the gearbox mount, looks the easiest to change and that support is crying out for a clean and coat of fresh paint :D

Hi,
What sort of vibration were you getting before you changed the mount? Was it progressively vibrating more the faster you went, or was it at a certain speed or RPM? Also, what was vibrating, the whole car or just the gear lever?

Thanks,
Andrew.

It vibrated only between about 40 - 50 km/h ,no particular rpm , and you could feel the gear lever vibrating but you could also feel the car vibrate under your seat , before or after that speed it was all normal , since i changed the gearbox mount it's really improved a lot certainly , after about 70 km/h you can't feel anything at all it's smooth as ever.

One weird thing is thought hat since i replaced the gear lever pivot ball , when it's hot or the tranny heats up it's abit rough to shift , any idea why?

I think the problem with the gearbox mounts is that they can get contaminated with oil from leaky engines and gearboxes causing them to go a bit soft. My car seems to shake/wobble slightly when I accelerate sometimes and I do get some vibration through the gear stick. I'm hoping a new gearbox mount will cure this. Burton seem to be the cheapest http://www.burtonpower.com/std-gearbox- ... t9400.html

To be honest when i pulled the gearbox mount out i was stunned at how bad it actually was , i'll post a picture when i can , it was really wonky looked like a proper :turd: compared with the new one , and yes i reccomend Burton the one i got from them was perfect.
