Hi,
I spy a Renault 5 GT Turbo. That's a very rare car these days, there's only 356 left registered in this country.

By the way, you don't need chrome exhaust tips, you can polish steel and the end result will look like chrome.
You just need a Dremel, or similar, some felt wheels and some polishing compound.

Hi,
No worries. It's very easy to do once you've had a bit of practice.

Thanks for posting those extra photos. It was a great turnout at the show, I bet you enjoyed that.
I can also see one of my favourite cars, a yellow Ferrari 246 Dino to the left of the Corvette in the last photo. :D
Is that a regular meet?

It's a yearly show but no it's not a Dino it's a Renault Alpine A110 , this is a relatively small meet , the one from which the first pictures are from was huge the biggest in the history of Mallorca nearly 400 classics haha , it was nice but when the meet ended at 13:00 everyone left in a second because it was over 35 degrees c and about 80% humidity , about average for Mallorca , but still a pain i jumped in the shower as soon as i got home  , at least the Capri stays nice and cool with the brand new refurbed large tank radiator , it stayed at 1/4 of the way and didn't move from there at all :D , fuel consumption has improved to about 18 mpg i calculate , not bad for a 3.0 with somebody with a bit of a lead foot habit like me

Even better! :D I thought there was a possibility it might have been, but as they are so rare I thought that it probably wasn't! I'm not sure that the A110 or the A310 was even officially sold in the UK, and the A610 turbo is practically extinct due to it's tendency to catch fire.

Back on topic.....I'm pleased to hear that your Capri handles the heat really well, with the gauge nowhere near the red zone. I'm not surprised that you didn't fare so well. I don't suppose that you can get cool air to blow through the vents with that sort of outside temperature....

All the best,
Andrew.

You can't imagine how hot the Ghia black interior gets it was probably 50c inside the car  , it was like stepping into a sauna!!! , that's why having a good cooling system is a must here in Mallorca , on the motorway even though i was driving at about 130 km/h or 80 mph the temp gauge event went lower which was nice to see the rad was working so well, i already knew it was going to be hot like hell so i took a 2L bottle of water and a couple of powerades which helped a lot...

Yesterday i had some proper fun at a classic car hill climb event , it was really fun going up and down tiny twisty mountain roads but with a hairpin every 10 metres it was a proper workout for both me and the Capri :drive: It was an expensive day today though , i had to keep up with some Rally prepared Porsches and Renault 5 Turbo's i had to put my foot down more than usual to keep up with them and i think we all know how thristy a 3.0 is when you put your foot down a lot , all worth it though it makes some glorious noise at full chat

Hi,
Your car is looking stunning, it's always pristine. Gorgeous. Don't you have dust in Mallorca?
What a fantastic event this hillclimb is, and it seems to bring all the best cars out to play! I love the photos, there's something about the second one that catches my eye. I can't put my finger on what it is....

All the best,
Andrew.

We do have dust but only really when the wind is blowing from the south which has a lot of dust from africa , usually it blows from the north so we don't have so much , my nephew also recorded a video when we were coming back

Hi,
Nice find! Rally prepared, I assume, as it has bonnet pins, an electrical cut-out switch and looks to have bucket seats and a roll cage. Perhaps used on the mainland, as I assume there's not much of a rallying scene where you are?

All the best,
Andrew.

Yes , sadly this year a driver died when his car hit a rock Wall very hard it caught fire the driver i believe got out but the co-driver didn't , it's the only deadly accident we've had , the rally wasn't cancelled though it still went on!
