Sounds like mine
Photo beautified or not, looks lovely. I prefer silver over red decal. If I wasn't keeping mine original, I'd go for the same.
Mike
Thanks Mike, It's strange that Ford decided to change the stripping order on the Special. I'm not sure which I prefer but with you, like to stay original as possible.

I forgot to say, your metal plates look just perfect. I know I said this ages ago, but having seen yours, I'm definitely going to get some.
All the best,
Andrew.
Thanks Andrew, I'm pleased with how the plates look, probably not 100% correct for the car's age but not everyone would know that

I'm sure that I have seen Specials with silver over red. Maybe it was an option (I bet Andrew knows!) Unless I dreamt it or the owners changed it themselves.
I too like the metal plates. Suits the car whether authentic or not.

Hi Chaps,
I've never seen striping variations mentioned as an option in any of the brochures I've got. As far as I'm aware, the colours of the stripes used were dependant on the colour of the paint.
I'm sure that I've seen all the paint/stripe colour permutations on a website somewhere, but I can't find it now.

Yeah Andy its a bit cleaner than it was at Beaulieu
Now you've got me thinking if I've got the right stripes Yours are definitely right for the 4 speeder, but did they change them on the 5 speed version? The web site above suggests my 83 model should be the same as yours.
Mine are the same as Andrew's, so I'm sure they must be correct
Hi Neil,
The 5 Speed Injections definitely did not have the early type graphics, as seen on the 4 speeders. As far as I'm aware, they're the same as on the Special.

That's great to hear from you Andrew. I was fairly sure they upgraded the stripping when they fitted the 5 speed gearbox

Hi Neil.
Just seen your recent photos of your 2.8i mate. Looks really fantasic. I have been lucky enough to see it in the flesh too. Lovely Capri
What a cracking set of "industrial" style photos too fella. Are those the petrol pumps it takes to fill up a 2.8i then Neil...think I will stick to my 2.0 Pinto
Seriously though nice one Neil. Cant wait to see it again mate.
All the best now
Nick

Cheers Nick,
Its a bit cleaner than the last time you saw it at Beaulieu, thankfully
We must catch up again, hopefully when the weather's good and I can get a chance to see your excellent Laser. I'm going to try to get along to at least one of the RSFFE breakfast club meets at Farnborough this summer. Hopefully you and John could join me
It'll be nice to see this at the next RSFFE breakfast meet. I was at Beaulieu but never spent enough time by the cars to chat to many other people. Looking good.
