Hi,

What an absolutely fantastically stunning car you have! I love the combination of the shark grey Recaros and pepperpots, which are on the best incarnation of the 2.8 injection (I'm not at all biased, of course!) :) I think that black really suits the shape of the Capri too, and is probably one of the best colours to have. 8-)

All the best,
Andrew.

Cheers Andrew...... Yeah it's the perfect colour for me as I had a black 2.8 back in the 80's, so it had to be black again. Nightmare keeping it looking good, but a price I don't mind paying :D

Like you love the Pepperpot alloy's would have preferred the Carla check interior but the Shark grey comes a close second.

The engine bay is not as tidy as yours yet, but I have the whole winter ahead, so watch this space :)

Cheers

Neil,
I look forward to seeing more photos as the work progresses. Please keep us updated.

What area of the country are you in? I hope to see your car in the flesh at a show in the summer!

Andrew.

I live in Bournemouth, not far from Beaulieu. So I'll be going to Simply Ford in May for deffo :)
Also thinking about the Ford Fair, Classic Ford and The Ace Cafe Capri meet. Hope to see some of the forum members there.

Gutted I missed Brooklands :( Would have been extra special for me as I worked at BAe Weybridge on the Brooklands estate 30 years ago, so would have brought back some good memories :D

Neil,

That's good, there's a few people on here who will be going to that one. How about the Capri Club National in May? That will be a large gathering of Capris to drool over!

You certainly missed a great meeting. Still, there's always the 50th anniversary! :)

Didn't know about this one. I've got a mate who lives in Gloucester, so might tap him up for an overnight stay to break the journey up :) He was more of an XR :ford: fan but I'll bet he'll want to pop along with me

Keep us informed nearer the date, as I'm not a member of the Capri Club.

Cheers

Neil,
In my opinion, it is definitely worth joining for the £30 or so it costs per year.

Andrew
I've been thinking of joining. I'd probably get most of the annual subscription back with the parts discount :!:

Definitely. The cost of the magazine (at only £2.50 each for a member renewing) is worth it alone.

Don't forget that some new repro parts are only available through the club because they have invested in re-manufacturing them.

Definitely sounds worth joining, but it will have to wait till next month now as I've forked out on Foo Fighter tickets this morning for Me and my Son :)

Added to the shopping list with the Janspeed exhaust system and lowered front springs all ready on it :D

Nice car. The best colour when its in the garage or cloudy/overcast day but in direct sunlight nightmare :D
Got Janspeeds ready for mine at some point, currently Sportex system but might as well get some use out of it, sounds nice actually.

Thanks Andy :D

I'll be fitting a Janspeed system on mine in the New year, should sound amazing :D Apart from that and the K&N the engine's staying standard.
I've also just purchased a set of 1 inch lower front springs from Tickover. Hopefully all will be up and running for Simply Ford.

Cheers

Hi Neil,
Janspeeds will sound the dogs, well worth the money, the standard system doesn't do the 2.8 justice.

I've got a K&N Filter in the pipeline too, great minds think alike

Looking forward to Beaulieu hope it's the same weather as this year, but will go anyway.

Very nice car you have there, do like black, just a bugger to keep looking good.

Can Vouch for the Janspeed. great addition to the 2.8 sound track.

Just ask my wife, she says I'm a big kid as I can't resist dropping a gear or two going through the A64M tunnels in Leeds.

Cheers Rob,
Unfortunately there's not too many tunnels around my way or else I'd be doing the same as you :xd:
Still can't wait to get the Janspeed's on. I remember fitting them onto an Escort RS2000 when I was younger and the sound and performance gain was well worth the outlay!

Thought I'd have a bit of an update on my post with some more recent pictures.

Took a few photo's at my place of work. Trying to give it a bit of a magazine photo look :?

Image

And from the rear showing off the Janspeeds :D
Image

From the side. You probably can't tell but the front springs are now -1 inch. I think the back springs have lost at least an inch due to wear and age :?
Image

Last one, I won't try to bore you all with all the photo's I took!

Cheers for looking

Hi Neil,
Your car looks stunning, as always. A real beauty!

Being a "sheff", I would have thought that you worked in a restaurant! :)

All the best,
Andrew.

Cheers Andrew. Its not perfect, but looks good in a photo :)

No I don't work in a restaurant, I couldn't cope with the unsociable hours. Sheff has been my nickname as far back as I can remember, as was my Dad and now there are three more little sheffs

All the best
Neil
