The wing intercooler shouldn't be under too much duress, but yes not ideal for airflow. I'll have a flexible 4" hose from the head light intake pointing right to the fins which should help and I could opt for a few wing vents and a small lecky fan(s) but I want to keep it simple if possible. A water to air job includes a lot of extra gubbins too.
I'll have a before and after temp sensor on it to monitor what's going on and take it from there.
Some folks that twincharge just plumb the turbo straight into the charger but I wanna try and better that.. might help lengthen the life of the charger. Charger has tight internal clearances and hot air from turbo can expand the rotors to hit the casing.

Fibre glass and filler, reminds me of the floor and sills on my first car

I hate the stuff peter! Trying to gap and line these up means I'm buying it by the bucket. Just aesthetical though, my floor and sills are now metal.. they used to be a mix or filler and rust- Fillust !

So it got very cold very quickly here in the space of a few days.. 5 inches of snow fell. I wanted to get some underbody paint on before winter really hit so I removed doors and bonnet and got painting. Painting in a -20c garage isn't ideal so I got to it in the few warmer days we have left.










This paint is the same as the Epoxy mastic 121 from rustbusters.co.uk they can't send overseas due to regulations but we're able to gimme a similar product in North America . Amercoat 2. It's the biz. Used for painting ships and oil rigs. I'm very impressed. No seam sealer anywhere. As far as I'm concerned there's no better paint for this job.

Looking really good, it's come a long way since you've bought it, some great work going on there, this is going to be excellent when finished. Cheers for the updates, thought it was getting cold here, '-20 c ', shivering just thinking about it..

I never thought I'd get this far! But I'm pleased with how it's turning out. Its more resistant to the elements now than its ever been.
Back in double digit plus temps again here for a while thankfully. But the inevitable cold will be here soon. Coldest temp I've witnessed here yet was -32c.

Funny thing is Edmonton is the same latitude as where I'm from in Ireland, no further north and the temps are so different. Gulf of Mexico take a bow...!

Thanks Pete. I just painted this stuff on with a brush cause me spray gun has too small a nozzle for such a thick coating. I bought a cheap garden sprayer today to get some coating into the chassis rails.

This work is quite tedious as I'm freehand carving out lines. But in all fairness I'm pretty happy with the results so far.

Working on exhaust.. anything but bodywork!!

Few other tasks set upon

Got an aeromotive stealth fuel pump installed in the tank. I had considered a swirl pot and associated piping with high and low pressure pumps but this, although expensive does away with all that.

The rubber boot acts as a swirl pot.












Also got some uprated valve springs so they're in the head now.




Also my dash had seen better days




So with a flap disc I ground away the ridges and the speaker holes





Then used a bumper repair kit which is like a sandable 2 part rubber epoxy, smelled like germoline!





Then a blast with some primer





Which I hit with a dry sponge roller to texture it




Then some sem sure coat vinyl paint on top.

Not perfect colour match but I'm happy.




And also some bracketry for crank trigger and timing marks

Never tire of looking at pictures of this build, it's an amazing project. Nice repair on the dash , like the rest of your car, it's a top notch job. Cheers for sharing.
