Re: Canada MKI Capri- restotime
Yea, well, I paid restore a ford to do my bodywork...but I did my Mk 2 in a lock up many moons ago. I guarantee you would have spent significantly less than I spent on my Mk 1....and by the way it's going, your car should look superb. I completely re-paneled my mk 2 and it took years on and off, so it can be a long slog, but once done, you'll soon forget about it and get onto doing the engine and more interesting bits! I'm sure your restoration is of a better standard than many so called professionals.Craigorypeck wrote:Thank you. Budget wise I can't do it for any less and keep it to a standard id be happy with. The panels from express cost more than the car did.
I really just wanted to make it go faster and not have to actually make it, but I'm enjoying it none the less.

Superb! Coming together nicely. A long slog at this point, but worth it!

It's looking great. Wish I had the skills to even think about attempting something like this!

Coming along very well, I noticed that you mentioned Expressed steel panels, must be a swine importing from the UK, especially with the exchange rates and shipping costs, are Team Blitz still going, I think they used to advertise steel panels, I don't know what the quality is like, but you'd save a fortune on shipping perhaps?

Re: Canada MKI Capri- restotime
Hey Andy
I have enquired about quite a lot of stuff at team blitz and it's cheaper to buy from uk and ship it to Canada.
It's unfortunate, being such a rare car drives the prices through the roof over here but Martin at caprigear has been my savior for a lot of stuff.
Smith and deakon were a pleasure to deal with too.
