After a year or so off the road the X pack has been treated to a reconditioned engine, new clutch and all new brakes and steering. All seems well, I have done about 200 miles in it over the last couple of days and it seems happy to be back on the road.

Glad to hear it mate.
Always a good feeling when you get back on the road after a long period of problems.
Enjoy.

Re: It lives!
The capri now has a new accelerator cable as I went to adjust it on thursday and noticed it was only held together by one strand of wire, the rest had frayed. So, new cable fitted and what a difference .
Went on a 200 mile round trip to Skipton yesterday with a friend in his Triumph Spitfire. Both cars got suitably put through their paces and I am happy to say no problems to report.
The peace of mind from knowing I can do a long trip again is great, and I also worked out that she is doing 34Mpg, which I am chuffed with.
