my 3.0s restoration
Re: my 3.0s restoration
Had the mechanic opposite to me set up the carbs today.
All I can say is what a great job he has done.He spent an hour
fiddling with them. Before he started the engine was shaking about like a
tractor engine. It was so bad I thought there was a major problem.
A few minutes later and they were getting better and better.By the time
he was done they were spot on and the noise is superb. He also checked the timing ect.
Hes going to give the carbs another tweek once they have settled.
Im goin to put a one way inline pcv between the outlet on the new oil filler cap to the middle carb and then
fit the new rocker covers.Really pleased with the results.
Cheers to Ray at Vehicle Services Romford for all his help today.

A few pics of the rocker covers fitted.
Fitted my home made throttle bracket.
Drilled a little hole in the bottom of one of the air filters and welded a little tube going in to it.
Then fitted a new oil filler cap with an outlet.Fitted a hose with an in-line PCV going to the tube I had welded to air filter.
Also past its MOT today.650 moles I done last year.
The drive down to Mot was my first drive with the carbs.
All I can say is there superb. The performance and noise is great.
Needs a major clean up for Battlesbridge show a week sunday

Re: my 3.0s restoration
Managed to pick up a bargain.Genuine Ford shelf in mint condition and I mean mint.No marks at all
and its not warped like the one that came with the car when I bought it.
Its a proper S shelf so no carpet segments on it.
I picked this bargain up for £40 and it was 5 miles from me.Result.
Will give it a clean up and put it in the car.
