No, bumper is standard on standard mounts. It must be the angle that the photo is taken from or a trick of the light.

Nearly ready for the MOT... It's amazing what you can get done in the cold when you have holidays from work...
Just need arm rests...
Need to sort back bumper...
Then onto what you would think is a really easy job... spark plug change... jusk ask any TT owner how hard it can be...
No room for plug sockets here
Specially modded spanner
a 16th of a turn at a time and 10 minutes later the plug is out... just as hard to get the new one back in.... and number 4 isn't that much easier to get at either...
Had the build sheet tucked away in a folder from when I first got her...

Re: My Laser and 2.8i TT
no, because it needs to be seriously cranked to get into the hex section of the plug... never found one that would even nearly fit. Clearance is tight and most ratchet spanners walls are just too thick.
I've spoken to so called Capri "Specialists" in the past who said they don't bother changing number 5 on the TTs because it's "too fiddly"... It's not really that hard now I have the "special spanner" sorted, but still takes best part of 15 to 20 minutes in +2 degree weather to change number 5... the other 5 take about the same time in total...
The spanner I use is actually 5/8" and is alot older than me... and I'm 32 soon... it is best on teh TTs to get the smallest plugs (hex size) as this makes number 5 a little easier... I only ever use NGK plugs too... currently trying BCP7ES which is the specified plug for the 230BHP cars as I'm running at around 8PSI.

Re: My Laser and 2.8i TT
spanner was from my Dad's junk tools box... it's older than I am... best to look at car boot sales and autojumbles etc...
Looking to MOT it in 2 to 3 weeks time and tax it early Feb. Going to make sure it is all working as it should for Scotch Corner in March.
Feb will make it 8 years since I took it off the road for a little welding which turned into a major rebuild...
