Capri MK2 or MK3 3.0 Ghia Wanted

Post by Stevo »

Hi folks

I've been lucky enough to own a few really nice capris over the years, sold my last Capri in 2011.
The car I miss most of them all was a Hawaiian Blue MK2 3.0 Ghia with BVR, delivered new as an auto but converted to manual, great car.

Does anyone know of an original, decent Mk2 or Mk3 3.0 Ghia for sale? Manual preferred but an auto would be fine too.

Please get in touch if you are thinking of selling or know of a car that might be for sale, it would be much appreciated.

Not sure of your budget, but here are 3 I found;

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1980-Ford-Ca ... rk:26:pf:0
https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1049967
https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1079459 I know of this car and seen it at shows but not looked at it closely! Cheap enough to improve upon if/where required.

There was a 3.0 Ghia on Facebook (Capri World or Capri Laser) within the last 2 weeks in gold, from Bristol area between £9000 and £10000.

Hi Andy,

Thank you for taking the time to post the links to those three Capris

I have spotted all three previously, the White Mk3 and Gold Mk2 are both contenders however the red one does seem to require a bit of work, it is priced to reflect its current condition though in fairness.

I did procrastinate too long about going to view the White Mk2 Ghia manual that KGF had in again recently, I see it is now sold.

Do you have a link to the gold one?

Thanks again

Yes the KGF one would probably have been a good car. This is now sold too https://www.kgfclassiccars.co.uk/details.php?cid=938

No link to the Facebook car and it's so hard to find stuff on there :doh: If the ad comes up I will try and post the info here.

If you have FB have a look for it if you have time.....Both those pages are useful and worth joining.

:cheers:
Edit
Red Ghia now on Ebay

Found this on carandclassic, although started life as a 3.0ghia, now an S replica with decent 2.8i interior (using 5 speed front seats)!

I’ve copied the link here purely because it looks in good condition;

I like this mk2 auto although it will need a bit of work, looks like an early Ghia with one colour interior and black centred wheels

This is a later Ghia

I was just trying to work out that interior. Are those seats from an early 4 speed 2.8i or an age appropriate S ? I don't immediately recognise them as 5 speed 2.8i seats as I thought the Carla trim had sadly ended with the 4 speed.

They are 4 speed 2.8i seats with S headrests.

i think there is a mix of both front seats, the bases are later in shape, and they have piping on the edges.

Not a Ghia, not cheap but :wub: http://www.clinkardcars.co.uk/used-cars ... ri-s-3.0l/
Asking price, just over £10k more than it made at auction 4 years ago.

Hi there, I have a MK3 3.0 Ghia 1979 in Apollo Green, black vinyl roof, excellent condition - I restored it in 2014 and its coming up for sale - give me a call to discuss as Id be more than happy to forward pictures, give you all the details of all the work which has been completed etc (as it is too much to list.) I plan to put it on Ebay in the very near future as more projects are looming, so if interested do give me a call before it goes online as Im fairly certain it wont hang around long. Many thanks

Hi folks

Still looking for a Capri - I did view a couple of cars over the last few months but no purchase made yet.

If you are thinking of selling your car or know of a 3.0 Ghia or S, Mk2 or Mk3, that is for sale can you let me know?

Cheers!
