Capri mk3 3.0L V6 spares/repairs

Post by Luke1508 »

Hey guys.

Had a bump in my V6 Capri which does still run but sadly do not have the time or money to fix. So hopefully she finds a new home.

I’ve hit the front drivers side and the engine bay has bent and swayed left (will need to be jigged back, some welding and panels).. the engine works perfectly as it did before.. I believe it’s the Essex.

As far as I can see the front axle is fine but the arm is bent. I’m not overly mechanically minded and had a body/chassis guy look at it and said it is fixable with the right jig. I can’t bring myself to write it off and am in hope that a new owner can bring her back to the road. It’s a big project and looking for £2000 ono priced low as I need the garage space back for a new 2.0L S I got my eye on.

The only parts I’m keeping are the exhausts.
I couldn’t figure out how to attach images so if your interested I can Email or text them to you.

Hi it’s a Capri S 1980..
before I buggered it up it wasn’t in too bad of a condition. It had been my daily and very reliable. Has some patch welding along the sills not overly noticeable under the paint.. the paint on it was rattle canned by a previous owner and was something I was going to sort out because to be honest it looks pants.. Everything electrical works as it should. Underneath is solid and been under sealed. Now you can see under the panels it’s obvious there is some rust.. I don’t want to try and over sell this as I know it’s a big project.. I want to be realistic so any offers would be considered.. if you’d like any photos or a video of it fired up let me know.

Cheers
Luke

Will be getting rebuilt eventually, stripped everything down to the shell, just need to start buying the repair panels next but having two other capris as daily drivers means they usually go wrong first and the money gets spent fixing them instead

It'll get done one day!
