Do we think it will sell quickly?
I think it looks gorgeous and, despite the seemingly high asking price, it won't hang around for long.

Andrew.
Clearly put a lot of effort in to earn their commission then!!

I would be surprised if it sold quickly, based purely off the price. If someone saw it and fell in love without knowing anything about the car or the capri 'scene' they could feasibly just turn up and buy it if they didn't know what they're looking for, but even so it's a fair bit of wedge to part with - you could get a long list of Ferraris (360, 355, 430, 308, 348 and more!) for around the same price - If I had that much cash, as much as I love that car I still wouldn't pay that much for it

That's exactly my thinking. It could happen, couldn't it?
It is a lot of to pay for a Capri, and yes you can buy a lot more for the money. However, 80s nostalgia seems to be hot right now and the 1980s Fords are riding on the crest of that wave...

I like* the fact that they are so happy about the fact there's an original Motorcraft fire extinguisher in the boot. Personally I'd rather have my Screwfix one I bought a couple of years ago than a 40 year old one of dubious performance if the worst should happen!

Great car in one of the best colours and spec, and I would prefer a Capri over any Italian 'Super car'.
But at that money it would have to be 100% genuine and not reshelled if that is even the case with this one.

Same seller had this one which I would rather buy and save 15K https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1981-Ford-Ca ... SwTg9df1zb

I appreciate that my example of a Ferrari won't be for everyone, but the point I was trying to make was more that a 'rari seems more worth £50k as opposed to a Capri... You'd have to really want a capri to pay that much for one, and like you said, there are more out there for a lower price that are equally as good.

Personally I'm still a little surprised that 80s Fords are going up as much as they are when they were worth peanuts 10years ago, makes me wonder if they'll ever come back down again or not

Hi Danny,
Yes I knew what you were getting at, but I just not interested in those sort of cars full stop.

I think many 80s Fords have reached their peak now, even if sellers are trying to get stupid money.

I think I'd struggle to be able to drive an Italian super-car everyday to be fair haha

I'd like to think they've hit the peak, I want to buy more, but not at stupid prices

I think the prices have peaked, but I don't believe we'll see a price crash unless something dramatic happens with the economy. We'll have to wait and see what happens after October 31st!

I am worried about the 31st October as this is the only day my mother in law works all year and she’s doing Dover Castle again , last year she had a few drinks took of on her broom and flew over France until she rung to ask for directions. My worry is she will not get any phone signal if the same thing happens again this year .
Do you think I should write to Boris ? :lmao:

They have some nice examples, but don't think they will sell them too quickly at the asking prices.

Lovely but a headache for me to look after, I think this one would be enough and more importantly drive to enjoy
