That gives us an idea of what the reserve might be.

I was looking at that earlier. I think that it's likely to shoot up in price in the last 24 hours, as anybody who actually wants the car will wait until then to bid. It's silly to bid days before the end of the auction unless it's a speculative low bid.

There’s a new trick on eBay that I had done to me the other month so your selling a clock what let’s say is worth £600 so a buyer wants that clock but cheap at £300 pound .
He then starts a new eBay account as scam 1 as eBay let you start a account with out saying you need to say you have the funds or even proof of where you live and bids 1200 for the clock and then on his account bids £300
So after the auction the first buyer does not make contact so eBay now offer the 2 person the itam at yes you have guessed it £300 .

I think I have that right . I now will not sell abroad or anybody with less then 10 positive feedback .

Will be interesting to see what this goes for and if anywhere near the asking price on Capri World.

That's interesting, thanks for the heads up.
However, if the winning bidder doesn't make contact you, as the seller, are not obliged to sell to the underbidder anyway if they've bid less than you want for your item.

Well really no but eBay have patch the app I was using as you manually now can offer a 2nd offer as they were doing this as a normal thing thinking they were helping you .
I think eBay has a lot of flaws as they seem to be getting scammers and people accounts being hacked and don’t seem to be doing anything I know I use a really mad almost WiFi code password now to make it really hard . And I change it every month . Saying that is when you put a zero when it should have been a “O” and can’t get in your self it took me ages To work out what I had put down in my password book .

Yes every house needs a password book .

It made £12600 with 19 bids

Relisted with £7K starting price https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/253944273932 ... 3944273932
Southwest is a strange area to sell cars as people won't always travel. I think this car is a good purchase although it depends on the reserve....

No, they won't. I don't know why though, with something as specialist as the Capri you'd think people would be willing to travel nationwide in order to obtain the right car and not restrict their search to the local area. :?

The seller of the black 2.8 was right to put a reserve on it as it's worth more than £12,600 I would have thought. Perhaps it's just the wrong time of year to sell.

Not saying you are wrong as you have clearly had some experience of this. But I am just trying to fathom this through. Sorry being a little dumb here. Must be the end of the day. :D

So I have 2 accounts on ebay - one is Daz and the other is RSK. I like the clock but I am not willing to pay more than £300.

So Daz bids £1200 and RSK bids £300. They are both my accounts.

Once RSK bids £300, the auction shows highest bid as £301 by Daz because the auction needs to take account that Daz has placed in more and holds the auction.

If Joe Smith comes along and bids £400, Daz still holds the auction at £401, as before, because Daz has a £1200 bid.

If John Jones comes along and places £500, Daz again holds the auction at £501. So you see the pattern.

At the end of the auction, Daz wins it at £501. But I don't want to pay £501, so I stay quiet.

I lose the item, don't I ? John Jones buys it at £500 ?

Or have I got this muxxed up ? :D

They are £4.99 starting bid and the same for postage, so there's a tenner gone if no one else bids.....So still cheap enough.

So i spotted this today
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3502917473

Looks to be mercury grey but OMG this needs new everything under the car also i think it’s been around the clock with that front seat . If it was just £2000 I think I would go for it as dad could drive this one . As a real Capri is the 2.0 so don’t think I could come down .....
Here’s the last MOT done in 2006 .

The corrosion that adversely affects braking or steering is a worry - it must be very serious. Bear in mind that the MOT was 12 years ago and I bet it hasn't been attended to in that time. The car will be in a right state underneath.

I thought the same I bet it sells then we will see it again up for sale once they have looked at it .

Also I never get why people try selling stuff with naff pictures like car for sale and the picture is in the dark with the car up a hill miles away .
Also then it’s follwed by the mot guy said it’s the best car he as ever seen . 1 carful lady owner . Also only 200 miles .

And back again . I must admit I can buy some really nice clocks if the picture is naff a lot cheaper then if loads of pictures . Only got caught once with a pocket watch not having a silver Albert chain in silver .

Some you win and sI me you lose .
