It’s like when your car will not start and you start shouting “ come my sweet you can do it ,come on girl “ if she starts you think yes you did it . If not you start calling the Car names .
Come on it not just me we have all been there

Yes that’s me just a lot bigger and less hair . Forty towers why don’t they make shows like that again ... a true classic

All the series were on T/V at 9pm a few months ago. One per night over a couple of weeks or so, and at the start of each one JC gave an insight into each episode.
Good stuff

Re: Mr G
Excellent! In my opinion, Fawlty Towers is the funniest comedy of all time and still makes me laugh out loud even I know what's coming because I've seen every episode countless times.andyd wrote:One per night over a couple of weeks or so
How is it that Farty Towels is hardly ever repeated when the likes of 'Allo 'Allo, which is far inferior to Fatty Owls, seems to be on all the time?

The building used as the outside of the hotel wasn't anywhere near Torquay - in fact it was just outside High Wycombe. Called Wooburn Grange, it was a country club and it burned down in the 1990's.
Talking about shows they wouldn't show now, anyone remember Love Thy Neighbour from the early 70's? About on the same level as the Alf Garnett ones of the same ilk.

I got the complete series box set a little while ago Paul. Incredibly funny, very enjoyable. And not one sided 'nasty' as some people like to proclaim. The banter (as that is what it was most of the time) between the white and black guys was great, they both played it very well.Paul G wrote:anyone remember Love Thy Neighbour from the early 70's?
Tremendously popular back in the day.
Re: Mr G
It was on in our house too. I watched it again on Youtube some time ago. Very cleverly written and I can't see what all the fuss is aboutpbar wrote:I got the complete series box set a little while ago Paul. Incredibly funny, very enjoyable. Nothing wrong with banter in my book, always plenty between our XR members at shows
