Re: £15000 laser on eBay
Considering that there is a lovely "one owner" 2.8I for £18k and also a nice black 3.0S (imported from Ireland) for £14k, I think I'd have to seriously question why someone would pay £15k for what I think we all have to admit will be less desirable, mainly because of the engine size!
Everytime anyone sees my 1.6 the first thing they come up and say after going 'wow I used to have one of these' is always "is it a 2.8?" because people only ever seem to remember there ever being 2.8's or 3.0's. The laser here is a lovely car but for the same money you can get a 2.8 in the same condition and I know which I'd rather have...

Re: £15000 laser on eBay
Nice condition car. You never know, it may sell at that price, considering that C450SOY (the black laser with only 4500 miles from new) sold for £14,625 in May of this year.

I think they are being a tad optomistic.

Re: £15000 laser on eBay
It won't sell for £15,000 as that's just the asking price. Clearly the seller is trying their luck to begin with, especially as they can't even be bothered to clean the car properly before taking photos. There is mud all over the tyres, mudflaps and the floor mat....Jasonmarie wrote:If it sells for £15000 I will be in a dress at next years CCI meet .

Here's another £15K 2 litre, this time a Ghia. Looks like a nice car.

Some cars talk to you in pictures, this doesn't. I wouldn't pay half of that for it personally. Not sure if low owners make that much of a difference anymore.....As you said Andrew another dealer trying their luckAndrew 2.8i wrote:It won't sell for £15,000 as that's just the asking price. This is what happens when a handful of rare/nice cars make good money at recent auctions, suddenly everything is worth a fortune
Not many people buying this time of year anyway, so this will be hanging around for some time I think.

Been around quite a while too......I'd rather have a nice Sierra at less than half that priceAndrew 2.8i wrote:Here's another £15K 2 litre, this time a Ghia. Looks like a nice car.

True. Very dry looking steering wheel, very dirty looking front mats. Easy things to fix.andyd wrote: Some cars talk to you in pictures, this doesn't.
Basics of car preparation have not been followed, and yet the price is still top-of-the-market.
Very unappealing at that price, for what looks otherwise to be a good car.

Re: £15000 laser on eBay
There's two Brooklands 280's on ebay for around or less than the price asked for this plus, as someone else said, quite a few nice 2.8i's and 3.0S for similar money.
The other Laser that sold for big money was 4500 miles, not 47,000.
Still, if people are going to keep asking these inflated prices it may well drag the value of all Lasers up thereby denying anyone on a limited budget the chance of buying a half decent Capri.

Re: £15000 laser on eBay
The point I was trying to make about the Laser is that not so long ago, a 4 cylinder engined Capri on sale for over £10k would have been pie in the sky thinking on the part of the seller. The way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if we see decent Lasers fetching £14-15,000 in the near future.

Re: £15000 laser on eBay
For £15K I would at least expect the car to have a gearknob.......

No problem, at that price the knob would be in the driving seatAndrew 2.8i wrote:For £15K I would at least expect the car to have a gearknob.......
