Bonhams auction Capris
Hi,
Just found a collection of Capris from a deceased estate that will be going to auction;-
https://www.bonhams.com/search/?q=Capri ... q=Capri%20
Back in 1995 I saw the Henry Ford II 2.8; it was mint then and always wondered what had happened to it!
A roman bronze escort rs2000 was also commissioned for the Ford man that had leather trim too, and not sure if he had a US version of the mk2 in blue with red leather at some point...?
All look like good buys, the 3000E looks mint!
Further down a mint mk2 from the US with 27k miles sold for just over£12k!!

Hi,
Great find!
Those reserves look unrealistically low to me, especially the mk1.
Andrew.

I also thought this but i guess that makes it more of a bargain . Not sure to this question but watching the TV the other week I heard they Add a 6% buyers fee and also add VAT at 20% so don't laugh here with my mad maths but £26 added to every £100 pound spent that really does bump the price up

If only I had a few quid stashed away. Love to get a mk1.
Re: Bonhams auction Capris
Take a look at the silver 3.0 MK3.
The interior pic. What is that little handle near the ignition?

They've all got a weird handle down there actually!
Look at the MK1's one. What is it??

Oh, forget it, I just read the description properly. It's a hand control for throttle and brakes.

I'm suprised by the auction results. I would have thought the two 2.8s would have sold for more, but especially the Henry Ford II car.
Andrew.

Re: Bonhams auction Capris
Yes I thought the mr Fords car would have gone for a lot more or the disabled stuff put people off and it's a very easy fix .
I bet they will end up on a dealers web site for double the money . I do wonder who the collector was as did he ever show them . ?
I think somebody got a bargain today .

Got a feature on Mr Ford's auto in an old CCI mag, really surprised it didn't make more. No doubt as you say, a dealer will make more of it's heritage come sale time. Great to see it still about though.Jasonmarie wrote:Yes I thought the mr Fords car would have gone for a lot more or the disabled stuff put people off and it's a very easy fix .

Re: Bonhams auction Capris
The 3.0Ghia seems reasonable too, probably appear somewhere in a couple of weeks up for double. Wish i'd gone and bought them, could have made a few quid!
