Whoever this Jimmy character is, he'll be criticised on here for having a Capri with no bumpers...... :)

When I read the ad I recognised his name, but had to google it before I realised where I knew him from http://www.jimmydeville.com/about_jimmy_deville.php He knows his engines etc, so pretty sure anything he builds will be good.....

He has a hand in some other cars from the same dealer https://www.performanceandclassiccars.com/

Re Capri, for £30K I want to see 30 pictures, not 3 or 4

:agree: Come on Jimmy, get your camera out!

I would have to say, however well this car has been modified, I wouldn't pay anywhere near £30K for it. It looks great, if you like that kind of thing, but you'd have to take a huge hit on it if the time came to sell it on.

Hi Andrew,
I think the dealer needs to get the camera out.....JDV may be horrified with the lack of effort on their part :?

As you can get a nice late 60's Mustang for £15/£20K atm, it does make this seem a bit expensive, but it is probably pretty much brand new in theory.... Cheaper than the new Mustang, and it will fit in a standard sized British garage :D Definitely a Marmite Car though

For someone who is always on about how the original shape cant be improved upon I really surprised myself for quite liking this. If anything I actually prefer these sticky out wheel arches to the usual X pack widebody look.
Im not a fan of round holes drilled in the front valance usually but even this seemed to blend into the overall look of the car. Jimmy certainly has an eye for design. The price tag seems high but would hope it is justified by the overall quality of build & mechanical components.

So I have been digging around to find some more pictures and what he has done inside as I really like the look of the car .
I can not find a thing only the advert and when I google him and Capri I got a picture of my car ( strange but must be a internet thing )
So I have gone on Jimmys web site and emailed him asked if we could have some more pictures and will the Capri be on the TV as the company it's up for sale with have not answered my email ? Strange as I would have thought there are not many people who would part with 30k on a mod up capri .

So I will keep you all posted .

Also of topic it's like a winters night out side with rain and the wind where has our summer gone . :banghead:

So after sending a email I have ended up speaking to the one and only Jimmy Deville who I must say loves his cars and his capris what is really good is we will be seeing a new car show next year with the car in question on our screens along with some other really good cars . I have information on the car and now understand why we only have 3 pictures but the new show will plug the slot of wheeler dearlers and a British type gas monkey but with the key part being British . Is that Capri worth 30k yes and it's a bargain . So I did say anybody who would be willing to have such a great car can give me a shout and I will pass on the information .

Is there some gold bullion in the boot or what? :)

The trouble with modified cars is that the market for them is severely restricted, and they'll only get back a fraction of the money spent. However well the work has been done.
Nice to hear that JDV is a real enthusiast and I look forward to being able to watch a new car series on the telly.

Ant seems like a good mechanic, but can he replace Edd....? I found MB quite annoying in later episodes too.

Looks like it's on Discovery channel, so will have to wait until it's on Freeview.

Cheers Andy, will watch out for this. Having seen this Capri at the NEC last month, I can vouch for what looks like a good quality conversion on our favourite :ford: . Weirdly, I was taken in by its good muscle car looks on the day. Don't normally go for the overly modified look, even though I'm a big fan of the OEM + look, hope the show can fulfill the promise shown on this great Capri Conversion.
