Concours 280 "Brooklands" Capri
Concours 280 "Brooklands" Capri
Owned by me for 8 & 1/2 years, the write up and even the link to over 300 pictures cannot do justice to the level of obsession lavished upon this car. It's not been an easy decision and I never thought I would ever sell it to be honest, but it is time to move on and let someone else enjoy it.

It is being auctioned at the Silverstone Classic event ;https://www.silverstoneclassic.com/

I used to have a natty little signature here but it's gone now on account of Photobucket being a shower of shit. True story.

WOW!!
Absolutely stunning, better than new I would be afraid to drive it.
with what must be a hard decision to sell.....Wish I still had my 11000 miler, but as above I wouldn't use it enough and storing can be a pain so moving them on is possibly the best option

That's a very nice car! Hope you get a good price for it, but feel sorry for the buyer having to pay 15% buyers commission Probably be a trader or an investor, so actually I'm not that sorry
All the best

Hi,
Beautiful car!
If it's as good as the pictures and the description suggest, I wouldn't be surprised to see it exceed the estimate.
Good luck with the sale.
Andrew.

Thanks, I'm very pleased with that. it's also the new world record achieved for a MK3 too.
I will always miss it but I really enjoyed owning it for the last 8 1/2 years and it was time for me to move on.
Thanks for the positive comments.

Looking at the results, a lot of the cars smashed the estimates A lot of money around somewhere.......280. wrote:Thanks, I'm very pleased with that. it's also the new world record achieved for a MK3 too.

Hi,
Wow!
Well done, that's a terrific result......the car is worth it though!
Old Fords are clearly hot property at the moment.

That's about the same amount as I paid for my first house, ironically in the same year that the Capri was new!
Lovely car though.

Doubt it..... Probably bought as a short term investment while interest rates remain low!andyd wrote:Lets hope they are driven.......sheff wrote:A similar car sold at SWVA classic car auction on Friday for £32k https://www.swva.co.uk/classic-car/ford ... ands-1987/

Brilliant find, thanks for posting the link, Andy.andyd wrote:Just found this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/cars/a ... -115K.html
I can't see that it is investors buying the cars at these prices, as the market must be at it's peak and can't rise any more.....can it?
