The Minder Capri is up for sale again. This time as a job lot with Arthur's Daimler and a load of other tat.

I do for a £1, looks an absolute bargain, at that price you could bin the jacket & trilby, sell the Jag for a £1 & own a piece of classic Capri motoring for free

The seller has I think seen the professionals Capri sell recently for good money and is probably looking for north of 50K for this collection.
That's what I reckon.

Thing is, I see it like this:
The Professionals contributed to the "cool"ness of the Capri, you know Lewis Collins, Sports Jacket, polo neck, brooding frown, automatic rifles, handbrake turns, "cover me!".

Minder contributed to the naffness. Used cars, raincoats, fags and booze, lockups, used banknotes. It's not cool.
and neither was Delboys green Capri-Ghia. I wouldn't want to own it.

Cool stuff attracts money, mockery doesn't.

I think the seller will be asking for way more than £50K, as they paid £52,083 for the Capri and £32,083 for the Daimler (both plus commission) at an auction last year. This was at the same auction that saw VHK495S sell for £53,760.

On the subject of cool, Terry was cool. Wasn't he?

I can't see them making that much. The seller must have got into a bidding frenzy when they bought it at the auction.
In saying that, I'd love to own SLE 71R, just not at that price!

Much as the Capri is identical to the one I had in 1980 and I would dearly love to find another one to buy, for £85K or whatever the bloke is looking for I'd rather spend 25K on a nice 280 and the remainder either on a nearly new 911 or better still a holiday appartment in Spain or somewhere nice.
