Hi,
This one?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Capri-3- ... SwWxNYnghW

I'd be amazed if this listing was genuine. For a start, the seller is in "Chiguel", that must be in the Spanish part of Essex!

Hi,
In addition, this listing has exactly the same photographs as this previous scam listing:

Steer well clear......

Funnily enough I was just about to post that link myself. Don`t normally bother with prices etc but even I know that`s a joke!

So how does it work - I mean surely no-one`s gonna pay without actually seeing the goods? Or IS that it? I`m so naive....

Hi,
That must be it. Perhaps to appear genuine the seller asks for a non-returnable deposit to ensure that they don't sell the car before the potential buyer can arrange a viewing. They most likely take deposits from several different buyers. As you say, nobody's going to part with the full amount without ever seeing the car.........or are they?

Always use your gut instinct when considering buying or for that matter selling don't part with a penny of your hard earned cash unless you an touch smell feel the goods always at the sellers home address if you still don't feel happy one rule applies ..... walk away !

Been trying to ring that guy selling the 2.8...

Thought with that amount of feed back on his account and a phone number on the advert it'd be more legit than the other ones....

Hi,
Hacked account, possibly?
I bet the "seller" provides their phone number so you can pay them a deposit by a money transfer, that is untraceable, to secure the car until you have an opportunity to view it.
There really do appear to be loads of these scams around at the moment. When you think that we only see the Capri related ones on this forum, that must be a tiny proportion of the total number.

:agree: Alot more cars will have the same scams, but because Old Fords are very popular we will see more.

If it looks too good to be true it probably is, and you will start to work out the dodgy ones :goodluck:

Hi Andy,
I saw that too. You can't criticise the chap's intentions, but will his actions make Ebay sit up and take notice? Sadly, I doubt it.

:agree: But :ebay: probably just see the ££££'s everytime a new listing goes on......Pretty poor service imo :(

Hi,
I've often wondered why the scammers don't price the cars more realistically to make the adverts appear to be genuine.
Is it a kind of natural selection thing? I mean, if somebody really believes that the cars are for sale for such a low price, presumably they just more gullible by nature and much more likely to wire their money to an anonymous person?

When the unsuspecting potential buyer calls the number provided in the advert, is this what they get?

Hi Andy,
Yes, it looks nice from the photos. Seems reasonably priced too.
Pity there's no underbonnet photo though.

More pics http://www.1stchoicecars.uk.com/classic ... -a-recent/

Could do with some of Nicks HFVP ( ) on a few bits of the interior trim and dash, but overall I think it's good for the price :D
