Do you mean to buy the part or to have the work done?
CCI can supply the repair panel

Andrew.
Both, and then the paint for the color of the car

Pricing for bodywork will always vary depending on what needs doing, who's doing it, and how far you want them to go with it, so it's a bit of a piece of string job really, half the battle is discovering other stuff that needs doing along the way, the only real way to get an idea is to get a quote, which would mean turning up with the car.

Where abouts are you? My dad and are pretty good at welding, bodywork and painting, reasonably priced too. More than good enough for my insurance company to sign off on anyway lol.
Have plenty of experience working with Capri's too...Well, my one at least lol.
See my build/repair thread on my own Capri for examples of our work.

In stating your budget you've just given anyone who had a Capri that they wanted, say 6 grand for an excuse to stick 1600 quid on the price, it goes down to that old saying "You can't be buyer and seller", I know it's a bit of a nightmare at the moment, when we have a whole generation who think they're traders, but don't like to cover the legal or tax obligations of being one, and like to state a price even less.

I'm not sure what's the best way to do it, but stating a budget isn't it in my opinion, similarly I don't bother with adverts with "offers" on them, as the seller will wait to see what you offer, then miraculously have been offered more already, then there's my personal favourite "offers over", piss off, if your price is 10 grand, then it's 10 grand, minus a bit for haggle space, not 10 grand but will accept 11 or 12.

On a positive note I think we're currently seeing the top end of prices, or are at least very close to it, but then I could be talking complete rubbish, who knows, but either way I hope you find what you're searching for, they're out there (apparently), you just have to sift through the crap and dodgy sellers to find them

Hi chaps!

Just viewed a 2.8 special without an LSD in lovely condition..(recent respray... Underneath treated ...Etc)

Is the lack of LSD a cause for concern?

The early 2.8i didn't have LSD, so it wouldn't bother me personally........

This is the MOT history of the car I viewed:

http://www.checkthecar.com/FORD/C210SJU

Not been driven much, not MOT history during 2012-16 though, current owner has had it since 2015

Or this Black 2.8i special:

http://www.checkthecar.com/FORD/B743KPC

74,000 genuine miles, 4 owners

After some digging around:

Advisory notice item(s)
o/s/r tyre split and perished
n/s/r tyre perished
n/s/f inner arch / sill corroded
o/s/f inner arch /sill corroded
centre exhaust rubber missing

On latest MOT - Much to worry about?

Hi,
If that is the car from ACA as claimed, the seller paid £11,025 for it in June 2015!
Although I think he may be spinning a yarn about that, as the auction catalogue states that it had 44,074 warranted miles at the time of the sale, but the MOT history from this car tells a different story, stating 83,000 as far back as 2006. :? If it really is the same car, why is the seller desperate to offload it at such a loss?
With that in mind, those areas of corrosion highlighted would need to be inspected carefully, as they most likely have not yet been repaired. Maybe it's a bit of a gamble with the car having a shortish MOT.

Andrew.

I spoke to the guy, he says he bought the car from ACA.

He dropped the price to £6995 as well...apparently needs it to finish off a house extension

Hi,
Looks stunning! Although I'm pretty sure that the OP won't be able to buy it for the budget stated.
