Hi Paul,
Sorry, I don't know this car either, but as Andy says, it looks very tidy indeed.
Not a bad price for such an original car.

Think you're right Andy - one of my favourite colours too :D - I know what you mean about auto though being a Ghia model think it works quite well - wonder what the mileage is -

Hi Andrew - fascinating what can be found with a little effort - so in fact it's now 2 owners not one as stated in the current advert unless the chap from Bristol didn't sell it and relocated to Manchester.

Good find Andrew,
The bodywork will explain the recent top half repaint. Was it done to a good standard????

MOT history would suggest it may have had a few botched welding repairs in the past? :(

Only became aware of this MOT site earlier this year, and I must say it has put me off quite a few cars since :o
Although as we know some testing stations will be more harsh than others so it is still a bit of a guessing game.

Its still an old car at the end of the day.

Hi Paul,
As chance would have it, I bumped into the chap at one of the Queen Square meets in Bristol. He was there with another car he was selling, another Capri, that can be seen in the background in one of the photos in the Ebay listing.
I seem to recall he was a trader, so he wouldn't have been that original owner anyway. Perhaps he sold it to another trader? The car hasn't been driven very far in the year and a half since it was last sold, as you would expect it would have done, had it been bought by a private buyer.

Hi Andy - is the site you mentioned the dvla mot history check? I've used that and like you, it can be a little off putting what's gone on over the years - having said that, if what was wrong on the car has been properly fixed or they have been small things like, headlight not aligned correctly or its just been a matter of replacing a bulb then not so much of an issue - btw I may have something tasty coming in the next few weeks I found via a friend of a friend :D :D - watch this space :D

Hi Paul,
Yes that's the site. People can't hide the truth anymore......Talk about what you don't know doesn't hurt you

I agree if money has been spent and repairs are done properly :D But the word Corrosion scares me :o :o.

Cant wait for your new purchase update :D :D

Hi All,
At least the dealer has set a realistic reserve and isn't asking silly money.
Currently at £7100, by the way.

Hi Andrew.
With the car and classic advert at £11495, I thought they would have had at least a £10K reserve
