Personally I would stay away from anything that has rust issues and need a repaint, as this can run away quite easily along with your ££££'s.

Buy the best you can afford that needs minimal work, and keep saving as you wait :goodluck:
How about the silver/grey X reg 2.8i that just came on?

Doesn't look too bad, but with no MOT or history.....Risky unless you have deep pockets, but will be interesting to see the final price

Hi,
Is this the one in Milton Keynes?
That did look like a very nice example indeed.

Hi guys,
Looks like I'll be picking up the originally posted car on Saturday! Thanks very much for all the advice. Will post some pics once I've got the car and given it a good clean!

Hey Andrew, don't worry insurance is sorted. I'm relatively new to driving but not young anymore!

So after a week of waiting I finally picked the car up today. Literally 2 minutes later at the first traffic light, a guy leans out his window and says 'lovin the Capri mate'. While I didn't buy it for the attention, it's certainly attracts it! I don't think I realised how conspicuous they are....In terms of the drive it's nowhere as easy as my little fiesta, but that v6 sound and the massive Smile factor are unsurpassed. The brakes were a bit of a surprise even knowing of the reputation. That combined with the massive boost in power and I almost got caught out on one or two occasions. Once you've reset your stopping distances though it is manageable.
In conclusion it's been a fantastic day, more than living up to expectations, and I would like to thank everyone for the warm welcome and good advise offered.

Regards,

Dan ;)

Great stuff!
Mine's being restored and I'm eagerly waiting to experience those brakes for myself!

Hi Dan,
It's great to hear that you've (finally) picked up your Capri, and already picking up the compliments! :D
The fun starts here!

You def have to plan ahead before braking....Now you can see how people used to put them through hedges
