Way out of my league but a fine looking Capri, the 280 has always looked good IMO. Price seems about right at moment, very nice.

Hi,
I would have expected it to fetch a tad more, if I'm honest. Perhaps the prices are levelling off now.
Compare £21,840 worth of Capri against the XJR-S that sold at the same auction for £14,750. For that you get a 6.0 litre V12 coupe with only 38,000 miles, that is a limited edition model of just 787 cars. I still prefer the 280 though!
Andrew.

Another of my ex's
https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C957254
This was a beauty and only covered 10900 miles when I sold it back to Dr B in 2009. I knew it went to SA but I didn't realise Mark Blundell was the next owner
If this doesn't make at least £35000 I will be very surprised

I wonder if he always tells people that one of his cars used to be owned by andyd?
Andrew.

12,000 miles and it's been painted! Stripes are not finished right, gets me everytime, when big money is being asked the detail always seems to be wrong. Won't pay that for it as for £35k I want original paint work. However someone who doesn't know what there looking at will buy it. Do you know why it was painted Andy?

Pics from 2007

Pics from 2008 ad
http://brooklands280.com/10kmiler.htm (Prior to me).
It was painted in 2007 due to minor scuffs and dull laquer from being stored from around 1990.
Seats had not been refurbed as stated as there was some minimal wear on drivers seat that you would expect on a low mileage car, and as it was used for mostly short journeys the driver was getting in and out frequently.
Wheels were spotless so either refurbed or just never been kerbed?
Andy

I have seen a lot of Classic Fords not sell or get reduced of late. Maybe the time of year but I also do not sense the buzz of many of the cars at the minute. A few years ago anyone who was anyone that had cash to spare wanted a 70s Ford. I have seen the FWD stuff and Cosworths rocket in price of late though. Maybe there is a sea change of what is desirable.

I don’t think anybody turned up for the auction because of the weather .

I really think the Capri market has peaked judging by The Dr's current ad prices.....

Thought these two would have sold long ago
Perhaps the Dr can give us his opinion
These have been around along time too.....

If you went to him a bit depressed, he might prescribe a nice 280
