Hi,
I'd say that was about right, maybe even a little higher?
I remember seeing that ad at the time and thinking that it was a lot of money for a 280. How things change in a year, it looks like a bargain now!

:agree: The last 18 months Capri prices have risen ALOT.
Still quite a few not selling though, even if they are reasonably priced :headscratch:

Hi Andy

I agree but think it may take some time before it does and even then gradually. Classics seem to attract people with pension money to spend as well as speculators which leaves little room for the normal buyer... I could go on but just my two pence :D

Hi Des,
Two pence received
And you're right, because as long as 40 + somethings have money to invest, these cars won't be coming down anytime soon
The only hope is that other makes of cars start to appeal to buyers....Then Fords may even out :headscratch:

I think the days of buying a half decent 280 for less than £10K have passed forever now.

Ha! I didn't, but from the way he was describing it I got the impression he didn't know that much about the car.

He was able to tell me it was rare, and that he bought it after the owner passed away. He then brought it to N. Ireland from Ireland. Wouldn't surprise me if he paid well under £10K for it.

He might sell it if it still was
Nothing special by the looks of it, just an average 280 but OTT price with no description :banghead:

:agree: seems an unrealistic price....
The pics aren't all that good but you can see wear to the seats & I think paint coming off/rust on one of the bumpers. Then there's the transport to factor in too. And the fact that the dealer doesn't seem to know the car. Rant over! :)

Hi,
I agree, this car doesn't look anything special at all. Certainly not to justify the price. Both bumpers are in a hell of a state and the overiders aren't even on straight! I know those issues are far from insurmountable, but I wish that dealers asking top money would prepare the cars properly! At least run a chamois over the bodywork. The dealer has found time to tidy the boot between photos though....
It certainly isn't what I would expect from a 63,000 mile car, and it doesn't appear to have been cherished. I'm not saying that the mileage isn't genuine, merely that the main reason to buy a low mileage car would be the condition of it.

Andrew.

:agree:

FFS, buy 2 bumpers and stick them on if you want the best part of £25,000 for it. They aren't expensive.
