Anyone have a brooklands for sale?

Post by RadioInMyCapri »

Hello All

Does anybody have a Brooklands that they'd consider selling? Not a bonkers priced one, more one for an enthusiast to be able to drive and enjoy.

Happy to take on a(nother) project :)

Cheers

Hi,
Be sure to check the chassis number of any potential purchase to ensure it's the real deal, the number should begin with GG. There is some useful buying info on Dr B's site, if you didn't know already.
Good luck with your search, I hope you find a car.

Andrew.

Thanks all for the pointers & advice

I have a feeling I've missed out...things that may just have been affordable last year seem to have all shot up in price...might have to think about selling my old fiat to raise the funds :( just not sure though.

The 2.8 I recently bought is coming along and should be in the paint shop soon! I cannot wait :)

Hi,
That's good to hear. What colour are you having it painted?

Hi Andrew

I'm still waiting on the cost of the paint, but if sensibly priced then bentley's hallmark silver has caught my eye. I think it would show the capri's lines really well. I don't really have a back up; I used to own an Audi S3 in the lovely avus silver- it has an ever so subtle blue note to it, almost like a light raincloud. For now, that's probably my plan b.

Cheers

There is a 280 for sale on the other Capri forum for £11995 when I looked earlier today.
Might be worth checking out?
One I think you can enjoy and slowly improve!

Haha I suppose it is! I've been so confused on which colour to go for. It's taken me about 2 months to shortlist these two. No doubt they'll change again :)

Yep, you just can't trust the British weather can you .....:sorry:

Seriously though mate, good luck with your restoration. By the sound of it your 2.8i will look stunning when done. That Silver you mentioned does sound very nice indeed. Look forward to seeing some pictures of it :)

All the best

Nick

Hello All

Just seen this on fleabite

Wasn't it for sale not too long ago? Not sure about the Yale locks but seems particularly low mileage.

Hi,
It's probably the same car that you're thinking of as it's already sold. KGF don't tend to remove their listings very quickly if the car has sold, they just add the extra wording about similar cars always being required. Extra advertising, I suppose.

Hi, yes that'd make sense. I wondered whether it would fetch more than their advertised price, given what's been going on with prices over past couple of months. Granted I haven't seen it, but 12K miles must be amongst the lowest out there.
