Yes but Paul you are missing the point has it done that mileage in the first place?pauld wrote:laserdude wrote:Hi mate,elliecharlie2008 wrote:Daft question but what are factory marks?
When a car comes off the production line water pipes and moving parts are tested for leaks etc. Ford used a special Blue/White paint and a worker would dab in on the water hoses struts tops etc to say it had past the test. The car would then go to the pound. People over look this fact when looking a so called low mileage car.
Tom
Main prob!lem as I see it with tiny mileage cars are you can't really use them or if you do, even a couple of thousand miles a year to shows and summer use, the car will only depreciate in value. So for 32k all you can really do is just look at it! For me, I prefer to use them

Yep! The world's gone mad! Reminds me of the MK2 Jags during the 90's that were going for well over 50k for average examples! 20 years on and they sell for no where near that kind of money! Think some folks are taking big risks and only takes interest rates to start moving northwards or the economy to get shakey and tears will be shed - unless money is no issue for the buyer. For me, I wouldnt pay that kind of money if I had millions spare!

Re: Looks good but.........
I think you've got it in one there, we've had ridiculously low interest rates for over 6 years now, during which time a lot of youngsters have had it very easy regarding mortgage repayments, and money has been cheap to borrow, while money in the bank has been next to worthless, my philosophy is if you can't afford it, then don't buy it, and I've always been a saver, and wary (okay, I'm known as being tight), something which a lot of people in "the scene" (I hate that word) have never known, but we're basically sitting on a stagnant economy, and interest rates do need to rise, and I think that there's huge potential for a lot of people to go tits up very quickly if and when that happens, still, there may be a bargain or two to be had at that point, so I might get my wallet out yetpauld wrote:Hi Andyandyd wrote:£35000 https://www.facebook.com/KGFClassiccars/

When it hits the fan, that will be the time to buy at a more sensible prices, as the current owners will need the money, and we get a bargain

The low mileage one at auction over the weekend sold for £37K!!

That's just nuts
Does this do anything to overall values? Presumably all Capri's continue rising in value?

Bear in mind this will probably be locked away, as too many miles will affect any resale value.RadioInMyCapri wrote:

Dr B wanted just over £16k for a 3000 mile unrestored Brooklands in 2008/09 IIRC, that's probably still locked away too....

It's good that Dr B. is drawing attention to the recent Ebay scam involving the 280. However, is there really anybody out there that would fall for it? I hope not....
Andrew.

Lol the same 280 was on private sale few weeks months ago for around 16k or so. It didn't sell so hence went to auction and it'd done well!

I said before I haven't seen this 280 for sale privately, which did surprise me. Where was it advertised??
It was unsold at the last ACA at £16k to £18k estimate.

Perhaps it was the advert for the forthcoming auction. The estimate is sometimes referred to in the description.
I can't recall seeing a classified ad or an auction for this car recently.
Andrew.
