Maybe he gets bored easily or fancies something else....I know that feelingMattMe wrote:Holy... Mackerel! That is an amazing restoration.
Why are none of these pics on his eBay advert?
I also wonder who goes through the effort/expense of this type of resto only to sell it on later. If I'd invested like that in a motor I think I'd make sure it was one I was happy to keep hold of. Forever.

I agree, and I feel the same about mine. However, we just don't know why the seller has decided to sell the car. The seller may have felt the same, however, circumstances change and you never know what the future holds. The seller simply may not have any choice but to sell.
All the best,
Andrew.
Re: Wanted mk3 3.0S
Yep, there could be a number of reasons why it's up for sale, but someone could get a relative bargain! Given the life the car will lead (assumed garaged and driven high days and holidays) I think it should be driven and if looked after will still look superb for years, if not decades! I know my mk1 which has been done to the same standard will be driven!
Bit of a mistake the owner not putting a link to the restore a ford web site though!
I can't help thinking, add some 4 spokes and it would do well in one of the auction houses in the UK. It's better than the orange car that Sold recently....and that was a 27k car.

Yes, I agree, it does seem like a strange omission. Maybe that will prove to be an expensive mistake.

I think paulda was trying to say why did you find it strange that he put a request out for a 3.0 capri. Not the fact that the gold 3.0s has been taken off ebay.

It looks to me like he has purchased a mk1 3.0. Unless he already had one beforehand.

Re: Wanted mk3 3.0S
Havent bought anything else just yet due to family bereavement which I'm afraid takes the unfortunate priority. There's a link under members cars around 7th July titled "not sure this works" where you can see a few pics - can't seem to upload the link from my handset St the moment

Re: Wanted mk3 3.0S
Apologies for the misunderstanding. I just thought that i had seen a thread where you were asking for a mk1 distributor hence the mention of it. Hope all is well with the family, they always come first.

Good spot. It seems strange to end the Ebay auction to send it to a proper classic car auction instead.
It's hard to keep up with all the changes!
All the best,
Andrew.
