Personally I think that is a good price for a 3.0S.....these are the sort of cars that command that money,
although as we know they can be different in the flesh but well worth a look IMO.

No I'm not tempted

Tried to contact the seller but no luck so far - suspect he may have sold it after doing a little detective work as was advertised on other sites than gumtree a couple of months back

As I have said before I always call the seller if they put up a contact number, as emails sometimes to get overlooked
But if they don't answer or return voice messages that's also annoying....

Hi Paul,
Are you still looking for a 3.0S?

I've just seen this beauty on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1979-Ford-Cap ... 3cf8e6a0bc

Seems its been up for sale for a while. Perhaps the will take an offer.

All the best

You're right Neil it's been on there quite a while.....

Ford Badge missing from Tailgate!
Vinyl Roof on an 'S' ?
Is that a standard colour ?

Andrew over to you....... :D

Hi Andy,

I knew someone back in the early 80's who had a 3.0S in that colour, so fairly confident it is standard.
Sure I've seen vinyl roofs on early S models before, guessing it was an optional extra? Andrew to confirm :)
Good spot the :ford: badge missing.

All the best

Hi,
Jupiter Red is a fantastic colour on a Capri. It must have been an unusual choice, as you don't see many painted in this colour, much more common on Cortinas and the like. It might even have been a special factory order for the Capri. However, it was certainly in the Ford colour guide in 1979.

Although there are a few 3.0S fitted with a vinyl roof, I think I prefer them without. Pretty sure that was an option on the S.

All the best,
Andrew.

I like the Oyster Gold same as Doyles Car VHK11W, that would be my first choice.....

Not a fan of the Vinyl Roof on any Capri TBH

Hi Mr. Ford, :)
That is sloppy, I wouldn't expect that from a dealer that claims "an enthusiastic, knowledgeable team of staff.....We have well over 30 years experience in the motor trade and all of our stock is hand picked"

I can't say I'm surprised.
