Ford Capri 2.0S 1984 B Reg 1800 Miles!!

Post by marcuss3006 »

Ok here goes,

2.0s Black Ford Capri with red trim

1984 B Reg reg date 1/8/84

1 Previous Owner from new

The car is in amazing condition, as you would expect for a car of this mileage, any inspection is welcome

The car is a garage find and has since been MOT'd, taxed and fully serviced. The car has all the original manuals etc. The car has only ever been serviced once from Ford which was in 27/9/84. Along with all the maunals there are letters to the dealer from the previous owner stating that he will not use the car, now the dealer is now shut down and i have since contacted the nearest local dealer who is looking ino the car history for me. Like i say your more than welcome to come and have a look for yourself. The car is driving spot on and being used daliy. No the only reason for sale is that im not into older cars, the car deserves a lot better and should go to someone who is interested in classic cars.

Any questions please contact me

[email protected]

Open to offers but please dont take the p##s

Thanks

Just chucking in my quid's worth but if I were you, I would be giving some indication of the asking price.

Hi,
I imagine that pbar only suggested the car was being used, as that's what it says in your first post of the thread!

Is the car for sale on any other website? Perhaps we could look at the photos there.

Good luck with the sale,
Andrew.

I have viewed the capri and Allthough its a nice example I wouldn't say the miles are correct in my opinion,as I've had capris with 15 and 30,000'miles which have been in better order,it's a shame it's being left outside and not garaged but there are some tell tale signs which don't add up regards mileage, but on saying this I would say it is a lowish mileage car but what excactly I don't know, maybe had a speedo change who knows, anyway I have shown an interest to the owner but I would want to put it back to factory standard.
If your interested go take a look for yourselves would make a very good example with some money chucked at it

In the absence of any answer to this by the OP, and the fact I cannot see it anywhere (particularly pistonheads where the OP said it would be listed for sale some time ago now), I would say not.

So in order to decide whether you might be interested in buying/making the journey to look at this car, you have to:

1. Guess what it looks like

2. Guess how much it costs

3. Guess whether it's worth it (based upon your guesses to 1. and 2.)

4. Guess whether you can afford it regardless of guesses 1. to 3.

In the style of Dragon's Den - based upon that, I'm out

It's a funny post that Mike :) The lack of a price always confuses me when looking at ads on here for parts/cars. Surely a seller must have some idea what they want. It must put a lot of people off if they've got to sit and dream up an offer.

I just don't get it. I know it makes me sound grumpy and miserable. But I'm not (maybe just read a bunch of Glyn's recent posts), just confused. A string of posting asking about its value. It apparently not matching its purported description (not OP's fault, the clock says what it says and he had information he relied upon). Then the unused daily driver fiasco. No photos or listing anywhere and no price or even OIRO.

When I sold my car in January, I put photos of it up and included an asking price. Surely basic selling sense? It has the feel of holding back the asking price in the hope somebody makes a stupid offer and then the seller wishes they had put a larger price tag on in the first place. If it's not that, I really don't get it - why sell something without showing what it looks like or costs?

People can do what they like and I have no interest in stopping them. But it makes no sense to me to come to a Capri owners'/interest forum (where people know these cars) and try to flog somebody on it a Capri they cannot see on photos for a price that is a secret.
