1983 ford capri mk3 1.6 LS sunroof model

1.6 pinto with the four speed gearbox

showing about 7000miles please note this is 107,000
loads of previous mots dating back to its original including original purchase recipet
moted till 26th June

Under the bonnet there are all new:
Ht leads
Complete electronic ignition
Rocker cover gasket
Oil filter
Oil feed pipe
Top half engine rebuild
Camshaft
Unleaded valves
Thermostat
Full 2 inch sportex exhaust system with a 4-2-1 manifold and 3 inch exit pipe, makes a lovely sound!!
Aluminium water pipe
Battery
Used starter motor
And upgrades not done by me:
Webber 32/36 twin choke carb
K&N air filter


Fitted with the four speed gearbox which goes through all the gears as it should, slight noise from 3rd gear but does not affect the way the car drives. But can supply with a used and working 2.0 type 9 gearbox and prop shaft

The hand brake is a bit worn and pulls up fairly high but works as it should
Brakes in a straight line with no pulling

Suspension is all good with no squeaks and rattles

4 compomotive 13x7 alloy racing wheels on the car with 2 new tyres on the rear and nexen tyres all the way round all with good tread
Also have a set of 4 original laser alloys with older tyres available
Full size mk2 Capri steel wheel spare with good tyre


Inside
Full cloth grey interior with blue tweed design
Carpets are in good condition
No rips or tears in the seats all in great condition!
Fitted after market rear seat belts but also have a set of original Capri rear seatbelts with all bolts and fixings

Heater works on both settings
New heater motor fitted so the fan works on all settings, common fault on capris of the fans not working
After market fibreglass parcel shelf
Boot carpet is in good condition
Dash has no cracks in it
Dash panels and under trays are in good condition but the top plastic around the steering wheel is cracked
Fitted with aftermarket pioneer Bluetooth stereo bought new for £80
Edge 10" subwoofer fitted and wired to the boot
Vibe slick 6 inch front speakers with separate tweeters fitted in the door cards
Sunroof handle winder has snapped off but the sunroof can still be opened and closed
Original Capri three spoke steering wheel
The center console and leather gaiter around the handbrake is in very good condition
Clock has a aftermarket white clock sticker on it
Roof lining is in perfect condition

One key fits the front two doors and ignition and there are two sets of these one which has been newly cut and then there is one separate other key for the boot

Bodywork
Good:
Sanded back and re-sprayed in matte black, super job and looks fantastic with a deep colour done just over 1 year ago
Completely de-bumpered with the bumper skirt and bumper holes along the side patched up to give a clean look to show off the capris great lines, done same time as re-spary
Chrome mk2 front bumper fitted
Chrome aftermarket wing mirrors
Front indicators re located into the front valance
Front number plate relocated below bumper
New front wings welded on
Also have a rear mk2 chrome bumper which can be supplied
Bad:
Small in the centre of the boot lid
Small dent in the back right wing
Dent on drivers side just behind the door where a parked car opened their door onto my car
Passenger door is completely wrecked as it was reversed into while parked, so will require a new door, comes with can of original matte black paint to re spray new door with
Rust on the drivers side sill, MOT advisory
Slight flaking of paint on the front of the bonnet

Underneath looks good

Car is in fairly good shape for being 31 years old, and these capris are getting harder to find and more expensive over time
Car looks and sounds great and draws plenty of attention with the matte black paint and super sounding exhaust
Can also draw plenty of attention with the superb speakers as well
Not a standard original capri anymore in many ways, but still a great car!

The sill is absolutely fine with no structural damage to the car at all. Just a dent in the door.
The rear quater is just a small dent from where someone opened a door onto my car while it was parked. It is hard to notice. I am located in saffron walden ESSEX
