Wanted, Capri, Mk1, 2 or 3
Hi, I'm looking for a Capri to use while I gather up the parts to restore my Mk1 (list of bits needed in the parts section), Ideally I'm looking for a fairly unmolested one, that doesn't need heaps of work (I've already got one of those!), V6 preferred, ideally 3.0s or 2.8i, or would consider a nice 4 cylinder car or easyish project.
I'm away from tomorrow until the 1st of August, but will check in as often as possible, if you know of anything drop me a pm, East Anglia preferred, but will travel for the right one, cash waiting, Andy

Re: Wanted, Capri, Mk1, 2 or 3
Anybody know of anything going?
Empty space in the garage needs filling before the wife wastes my Capri fund at the local dealers on a Focus.
Prefer original car of possible, 2.8i special or 3.0s Mk2 or 3, or will consider a nice Mk1 pre or facelift, not fussy (well, I am, but not at the moment ), abandoned restoration, or non running good shell considered, ah, sod it, pm me with what you have that isn't a weldathon or full of plod, worst I can do is say no thanks...
If I haven't had a reply by next week I'll start a "bring out your dead" thread, where anything with floorpans will make the shortlist.

I've seen the advert, nice looking car, but it's black, not that there's anything wrong with black, but it would cause me a nervous breakdown trying to keep it clean, the wife recently had a Zafira in black (it's not often I admit to owning one), and in the year she had it I spent most of my time when I wasn't cleaning or polishing it trying to not look at it because the slightest bit of muck stood out like a sore thumb

I know what you mean. But I think a Capri in black looks the dogs. You have to live with the fact it will show any dirt but it's worth it. Black is the new, er, black.andy a wrote:....not that there's anything wrong with black, but it would cause me a nervous breakdown trying to keep it clean....the slightest bit of muck stood out like a sore thumb

Hi,MS Injection wrote:But I think a Capri in black looks the dogs.
For what it's worth, I agree. Most cars look good in black, and darker colours particularly seem to suit the muscular shape of the Capri.
Quite!MS Injection wrote:Black is the new, er, black.

Re: Wanted, Capri, Mk1, 2 or 3
Still looking, I'm away for a week from Friday, but if you know of anything, drop me a PM and I'll get back to you as and when I have interweb access.
In short, would prefer something original (ish), unmolested, or even at this stage an easyish project (no rust buckets), I've drawn up a bit of a shortlist, which goes along the lines of...
Mk3 2.8i, prefer white or numbus, or 3.0s, white or orange.
Mk1, anything considered, must be manual, also looking for a facelift parts car.
Mk2, 3.0s.
Bar that, if you have anything you think may be of interest give me a shout, worst I can do is say no, and I don't bite (well, not normally, but this isn't the time or place for sexual preferences).
This is turning into a wobbly rant, so if you have anything give me a shout, from a decent shell to a full car, sod it, I have room in the garage, the wife will never know, I'll tell her there's a spider in there, no basket cases, cash waiting etc etc etc...

Re: Wanted, Capri, Mk1, 2 or 3
Hi Andy
I have a capri looking for a new home, it was my cousin's who has just emigrated to new zealand.
It is black i'm afraid but does have silver flecks in it, its a 2.8i V6 and at the moment is done like a track car.
5 spoke black alloys with silver rims, roll cage, bucket seat, alloy fuel tank in boot.
let me know if interested and i'll send some photos.
I've done some investigation and know what these are worth so open to sensible offers
The car is at gravesend in kent
Thanks
Mark

Re: Wanted, Capri, Mk1, 2 or 3
Andy,
I have a MK2 Capri 2Ltr Ghia 1974, with details on cars for sale, as 1974 capri, etc.
I am at the moment, waiting for the wheels to come back from the refurbisher, strip and powder coat, with new tyres
I am informed this model is rather rare???
As my add, years are catching up with me, so if a more drivable car that I am looking at, does not get snaped up, prceeds from the Capri will sub it
So I am looking at a realistic buyer.
With the wheels refurbished whats it worth??
Regards
Brian
