1986 ford capri laser 1.6 for sale
Tax and MOT till start of October 2013
The Capri has 77k on the clock-genuine. I bought it 2 years ago with 59k on the clock after it had been stood in a garage for 15 years.
I am the 5th keeper but I believe it was owned previously by several members of the same
family. This car has never been welded and has its original front wings. No bodges to be found on
the bodywork.
Since I have owned the car it has had
New brake discs, pads, calipers, hoses, master cylinder, rear cylinders.
New exhaust, front springs, rack, rack mounts, tre's, tcas,
Cambelt, Accuspark ignition, waterpump, ht leads, hoses, New vv carb, usual service stuff.
I hav fitted a 2.8 recaro interior as the original laser seat set had not lasted well,
but I still have it in storage
The rs steering wheel and 15 inch wheels are not included.
I have the original laser alloys with some tyres I bought new less than 2 years ago and have
covered few miles.
This car has been my daily transport for 2 years, I have driven across Belgium in it and have regularly driven across the country in it. It has been much more reliable than the modern car it replaced.
Now the not so good bits.
The paintwork is not great as the drivers side, bonnet and roof lacquer has flaked off and in its long term storage it looks like something has rubbed on the body in places on the passenger side.
It has some grot in places, none are mot issues.
The spare wheel well is the worst spot and is very rusty. I have got another one cut out neatly to have welded in
but never got round to it. There is some rust below the rear corners of both doors and above the top of the c pillar on the passenger side. There is also some grot in the front wings where mud has sat between them an the a posts. The battery tray is grotty at the front of it to. There are other minor bits around the body but come and look at them yourself.
The floor pans and the bits that really count are fantastic though.
I had a new screen fitted last winter and should have replaced the windscreen seal at the same time as it does leak occasionally. I took out the carpets and have left them out. But at least you can see how good the foot wells are. The heater motor doesn't work, nor does the radio and the dash is cracked.
If you are looking for a really good unbodged-up project to tidy up this is it. My weekly mileage is going up for work and I don't want this to put this through another winter being my commuter car.
£1300 No p/x's or "whats the least you will take" timewasting messages.
RS steering wheel and 15 inch wheels not included!
