I'm not sure if it's just the photos, but it doesn't even look the right colour to be a 280 lookalike.

Andrew.
It's Apollo Green which was used in the late seveties, was available on 3.0S but never on 2.8i.

Lovely looking car though but attention to detail underneath not good enough for me to want to fork out £19K
Thanks for the colour info Paul
First 2 pics are Apollo Green viewtopic.php?t=50163

Imo at £19k it has to be spot on all round! Will be interesting to see what this goes up to in offers.

The Dr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMF0BFA54_4

This car only made £13100 on bids, which I think was a fair price but well short of the £19K asking price.

It's nice to see and hear Dr. B on video, to put a face to the website.
I see that our very own Jason has commented on the video, but I like Lewis72's comment the best:
"Capris weren't even that good when they were new, so the value of them now is quite startling." :)

I didn't see Jasons comments when I watched it :)

Lewis72 obviously hasn't got a Capri

A gold medal winner at the Nationals in 2017.

A very nice car in one of the best colour schemes for the 2.8.

Sold!!!

I don't see this as a £21495 car because of what it is/isn't :? https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1005821
MOT History showing 15970 (115970) miles and only covering 575 miles since 2006 (all passes).

Going to be around a while I think....

Nice find, Andy!
That looks to be in superb order, very nice indeed!
That is genuinely one of the unconverted Tickfords, but an unconverted Tickford is identical to a 2.8i Special, and shouldn't command an increase in price, in my opinion.

Very nice condition car.
I wonder if it is serviced regularly though, as I notice that it has a Motorcraft fuel filter and they've not been available to buy for quite a few years.

Maybe the owner had a stash of older spares...

Hi Andy,
That thought did cross my mind, but if you look at the close up photo there appears to be corrosion between the banjo and the bolt, which suggests that it might not have been undone for some time. Also, the Motorcraft sticker is peeling off, again suggesting that it may have been fitted for some time. Still, I'm being picky. If it runs OK then the new owner can change the filter and there will be no harm done.
I wonder why somebody has fitted a blue plug on the thermotime switch, not a brown one?
I like how the car generally looks very original, even down to the original jubilee clips on the hoses.

Some nice cars there.
The first link was up for around £25000 somewhere on the web! I know the chap that owns it and did the work on it.

The scam ads are gone :)

That gives us an idea of what the reserve might be.

Thank goodness for that. It won't be long before more appear. I just hope that people aren't so naïve and/or greedy that they can't see through the scams.
