Loads of parts for sale! And a Shell!

Post by D366Y »

Long story short, I turned up at the local pub a couple of weeks ago and some chap said he had a load of parts he wanted to shift. He had bought a capri to turn into a race car, then went to Naples, got a LHD one and drove it back to the UK to make one good car out of them both.

Built the race car, sold it, and kept more or less all the parts and it has all been sat in storage containers for about 5years. There wasn't much there for me but has asked me to help him sell as much as possible because I will likely know more people so if any of the below parts are of interest then shout me and I will see if I can put you in touch!

He has also said he would do a bit of a deal for someone willing to buy the whole lot just to make his life easier so not sure if this is something that may be of interest Martin?

Here is a list of stuff I could actually get to and take a picture of/remember;

1.6 Pinto engine with everything bolted on including a carb (looks like a 32/36, but is from the Italian motor and can't be sure)
A gearbox with the part number 72 GB 7505 KB which is apparently a four speed gearbox fitted on LHD cars according to google
Type 9 Five speed - I believe from another pinto
Custom interior - looks like GL style interior that has been re-upholstered in leather (black, with red beading and white centres)
Pair of multi leaf springs that aren't separated and look in good nick
4x Carpet retainers for the door sill - one pair of original grey plastic, one pair of chrome looking things
Original front bumper with indicators. One indicator is still on there, the other has got broken lugs. Bumper generally OK but could do with a paint.
TCAs, leaf saddles and ARB support brackets all freshly blasted waiting for paint.
Propshaft
Interior kick panels for drivers (posssibly passengers as well) footwell
Full set of Bronzed windows without any number plate etchings that I could see
RHD dash with a small crack/split on the right vent area, a slightly larger one in the middle
Set of 5 RS4 laser wheels, a few are OK, a few need some TLC
Rear Spoiler
An original parcel shelf that is tatty and does need some work, but not beyond saving
Original bonnet, starting to rust a little on the inside lip but again not dreadful
Side door mouldings galore, looks like at least one, possibly two full sets. Most of the bolts have gone but they all look to be in good shape
Brake Master cylinder, servo etc.
Wiper arms
Rear Washer bottle motor etc.
Both door mirrors
Both front headlights on backing plates, with rings etc.
Rear light clusters
Interior Clock
Bags of screws etc.
Both sets of stalks (I think, possibly more than one set, one set looks either older from a possible MK2 or just LHD style)
One chrome handle with lock in, couldn't see a key anywhere but has the connectors
Most of the interior gumpf like an old radio, handbrake, gearbox cover, door grab handles, heater control panel etc etc soo if I haven't listed it I can ask and see what is there because there were just boxes of car all over the place.
He also thinks he has an Essex V6 engine sat in his workshop that is likely available as well.

There is also a complete shell, minus front wings, bonnet, and possibly minus boot but I can't remember. Didn't look at it that much but it has been kept under a cover and untouched for a few years, there is certainly some surface rust but I didn't go digging to see how bad the rest of it was.

If any/all of those parts are of interest please shout and I will try too help as best I can to hook you up :)

(The parts are in a village near me in MK18 if it helps people decide on distance etc.)

Cheers

Phew ! I thought you were going to say this was one of your cars.
I would be interested in both mirrors if the seller is willing to post.

Andrew.

I'm not letting you buy anymore gearboxes, and I know you don't want an interior
Do you want to come collect all that??

Don’t suppose there are any body side mouldings? Or a drivers side laser seat in good shape? I’d very much like those if anyone has such items.

No laser interior but side mouldings yes, think there are both sides if that's what you are after? Drop me a PM. And let me know, if you have a price in mind let me know as well and I can ask the seller

Cheers

Had an enquiry about the door mirrors, waiting to hear back if the price is OK with the enquirer - will let you know if it is still available!

Is there a battery clamp bracket, and the little plastic covers that go over the nuts under the wiper arms?

Please could you ask him about the side windows. Is it the set of 4 with the back ones being openers ?

Just standard bronzed windows I'm afraid, not rear openers but yes all four are there

Thanks
