1973 2.6 liter for sale
Hello, Is there anyone out there that would be interested in a 1973 2.6 liter Capri V-6? I installed this motor in a 73 Chevy Luv many years ago and then I pulled the engine out to do get the truck painted and I never completed the project. The motor has been on an engine stand for 20 plus years with oil in it and it still turns over by hand. I honestly don't know how many miles are on it but I'm almost certain it's less than 10,000 because I only drove the truck around for a couple of years before I tore it apart again. While the motor was out I added a new Weber carb, and had a machinist friend port the heads and do a 3 angle valve job . The engine hasn't been started with these additions added on. I also have a C4 transmission with a mild shift kit and a 78 Ford Courier rear end that was all in the truck. I'm working on the truck again but I am going a different direction with the running gear. I am located in Northern California (Bay Area). Attached are some photos of the motor. Thank you, Jim.

That could be awesome. How much you want for it? Miles away too, any rough idea how much to get it to the UK? What gearboxes is it compatible with? Dont know anything about the US engines.
I'm the one that leaves all those shoes in the carriageway.

With the siamesed ports, isn`t it the 2.6 version of the Cologne?

yes I believe you are correct. From what I read this is a Cologne v-6 i believe German? I am not a Capri guy, I just bought the motor when I was a kid to make my mini truck go faster.

Thats a very shiny 2.6 Cologne engine.
It was used in US and mainland European spec Capris for many years. UK Capris had a different V6 at first then got a 2.8 version of the Cologne with fuel injection from 1981
The 4.0 V6 in the previous Mustang was actually a Cologne just with different cylinder heads. The Ford Cologne was a pretty successful engine, made for years in different versions, used all over the world.

Thank you, Nice to hear someone who is familiar with the history of these motors. The 2.6 and 2.8 along with a Buick v-6 were popular choices back in the 80's mini truck era in the states with options for conversion kits available which I took advantage of.
