Popup sunroof
Popup sunroof
I'm just wondering if anyone has a popup sunroof for a mk3 capri that they are willing to sell?

Re: Popup sunroof
As Andrew says I would have thought it had a factory one
I remember having one fitted to my Mk3 Escort around 1985, it was a Solarport and cost £95. Very similar to the one in the Ebay link above.

Re: Popup sunroof
I thought all Laser cars had sunroofs.... unless someone has "the only one from the factory" without one
Or possibly someone has filled in the sunroof to avoid rust issues?
Not a scooby

Re: Popup sunroof
Very unusual to see a Laser with anything other than a factory fitted sunroof as that was standard.
Can you post some pictures of what this looks like. Aftermarket sunroofs were fitted by car dealers or DIY owners to almost any saloon, hatch, estate car or van they thought it would look good on. Therefore there sadly isnt an identifiable type of aftermarket sunroof fitted to a Capri, its not something that would have appeared in a Ford options list.
Your best bet would be to get as much information on it as possible, manufacturer's name size, photos and search for that on Ebay etc.
Back in the day when someone needed to replace a damaged aftermarket sunroof the work around was to find a slightly bigger sunroof kit and open the aperture a bit more to make it fit. I suspect you may have to go down this route ultimately

Re: Popup sunroof
Yea it already has a factory fitted one but it not great there is a small bit of rust on it so fitting the bigger popup one will sort out my rust issue

Re: Popup sunroof
Not a bad idea but it may detract from it's originality in a number of years when you go to sell it so could be worth you looking at options of repairing the original.
Good second hand factory sunroof panels are not difficult to get hold of nor to have painted thankfully. I replaced mine a while ago as it never sat completely flat due to a PO once forcing it and causing a slight twist to the panel.
