The Ford Capri Laser Page

Now I've sorted an original set of Laser wheels, next on my list is to see how much or easy it would be to replace the K&N air filter and put an original air box back on. So, I'll need a complete square air filter box with mounting brackets. I'll also need a nice black 2.0 rocker cover as my Capri has a silver sierra on fitted and this hasn't got the mounts for the air filter brackets. Anyone got anything spare and not wanting a 2nd mortgage to buy.?

There getting rare as hens teeth , I know somebody was after the brackets also the bolts are hard to come buy as you really need them or it will rattle.
I have never been a fan of the K&N filter also I never see they made any difference. Make sure you get the ones with two holes as some are just one for the Escort ..

When I bought my Capri, I was quiet happy with the minor mods it had. However, I've always been someone who likes his cars to be the way they were built. So, after a year of owning it I seem to be, slowly, trying to put it back to original appearance (other than it was a 1.6). Just got some very nice original laser wheels complete with metal black centre caps although dated 10/84 can't be to choosey now. The next thing on my list is a black 2.0 cam cover (could or should paint mine I suppose), the original 2.0 square air filter complete with the 2 brackets and a black 2.0 rocker cover with the air filter mounting points. I gather I'll also need to re route the heater matrix hoses which currently go over the top of my rocker cover.

The only thing after that is to decide whether to keep the 4 pot Volvo front calipers as the pads done face up to the 2.8 injection discs 100% so a thin edge appears on the pads

Yours may have been the one I was watching.. £85 ? Must admit I was tempted but couldn't really afford it. That's the problem with owning a Capri now, even some of the parts are going up in value as well as the cars. I'm also realising these square air boxes are becoming rare

A few rockers covers with mount on ebay but all will need a repaint

I did have a look on eBay for rocker covers, loads on there but only one with the 2 side air filer bracket mounts. It looked a bit scruffy for the money but then again, I've been used to buying them fo a lot less when I've bought them in the past.

I did have a spare air box but have not seen it for years , I must get my dad to start clearing the loft .
