Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
I know it's a long shot but figured I'd ask anyway. MK2 grille wanted. Cash waiting for reasonable offer.

I'd stick with the correct one. A Mark 2 grill always looks out of place on a later car in my humble opinion.

Re: Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
IMHO they look horrible on a MK3, just as a Mk3 one would on a MK2.pbar wrote:I'd stick with the correct one. A Mark 2 grill always looks out of place on a later car in my humble opinion.
Arya, your car looks top dollar as it is, don't spoil it mate!

Re: Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
Its unfortunately just one of those things ive always wanted. I think they look so much better, meaner and more aggressive, like a proper old school muscle car, like a Dodge Challenger or something like that. Cant help it, but its not looking likely i'll find one anyway, just like a Turbo Tail lol.
Re: Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
Thanks. I saw that one, i dont want to mess around with eBay, especially not a bidding auction. Too many cheaters and last minute "sniper" programs these days, impossible to win anything unless you are prepared to pay an exorbitant amount for it.
I may have found one on a facebook site but dont know for sure yet.

Re: Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
Hi,
In my opinion, the Mk2 grille looks alright on the Mk3, but it does depend on the colour of the car.
If you do buy one and change your mind about having it on your car, they seem to be in demand, so it should be an easy sell. You'll most likely get back what you paid for it too.
Andrew.

Re: Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
I have bought one for my project cost me £120 off one of the breakers but it's in mint condition.
I think the look meaner too and was the reason for buying one for my project too.
Best of luck with the search

Re: Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
That's insane, and that's just the starting bid! That person is really taking the piss! Bloody liberty takers! Exactly why I don't bother with eBay anymore unless something is "buy it now" of course. Still wouldn't pay that much for one. They're not worth more than £100 with shipping. It's just a fucking grille ffs!Jasonmarie wrote:Nice really cheap one on e bay

Re: Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
I wonder if somebody will buy it at that price ? It's like that one really good capri seat went for a grand almost I would never had believed it.
I mîght slap a ford badge on my mother in law and put her on eBay as a full restro project .... ( would need a hell of work and money spent ) and put the pictures upside down like the 20 grand 280 on eBay ...
and now back to chill world

There's a turbo tail on eBay too I see, if you've got £800 burning a hole in your pocket.
Re: Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
Yep. I might take a massive dump and slap a Ford badge on it and sell it as "NOS" and see what happens. Opening bid will be £1200 Lol.Jasonmarie wrote:I wonder if somebody will buy it at that price ? It's like that one really good capri seat went for a grand almost I would never had believed it.

I saw that. Absolutely insane! I'm tempted to try and make my own out of foam and then make a mould.Noel wrote:There's a turbo tail on eBay too I see, if you've got £800 burning a hole in your pocket.

If you make your own you could start selling them at £200 ago ...

Re: Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
Probably, more than that I reckon, though I'm not the type to do something like that. A small profit plus costs and I'd be happy.Jasonmarie wrote:If you make your own you could start selling them at £200 ago ...

Re: Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
In my personal opinion, unless you are actually packing a proper turbo or equivalent installation that actually needs increased rear downforce, then the turbo tail is a bit of an "empty codpiece".

Totally, but it looks sick AF!Noel wrote:In my personal opinion, unless you are actually packing a proper turbo or equivalent installation that actually needs increased rear downforce, then the turbo tail is a bit of an "empty codpiece".

Hello. Yes, I have a nice one. It's black with the Ford script in silver. All four lugs present and no am age to grill. Thanks.Arya2.0S wrote:I know it's a long shot but figured I'd ask anyway. MK2 grille wanted. Cash waiting for reasonable offer.
Colin 07709693555. I have masses of Capri karts though most are mk3.
