Re: Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
Paid for and being shipped out on Monday! I'll still keep my old grille just incase. I'll need to figure out a way to fit it that securely attaches to the car in a way that makes it impossible to remove without specific tools.Jasonmarie wrote:glad you sorted one

Re: Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
It's not very easy to get to the top two screws without opening the bonnet, and that should make the grille secure enough. However, if you're that worried, you can attach it using tamperproof screws.Arya2.0S wrote: I'll need to figure out a way to fit it that securely attaches to the car in a way that makes it impossible to remove without specific tools

Re: Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
Yeah that's what I'm thinking of getting. I know if someone opened the bonnet that would set off the alarm but I'll get some tamperproof just to satisfy my OCD. lolAndrew 2.8i wrote:It's not very easy to get to the top two screws without opening the bonnet, and that should make the grille secure enough. Re: Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
Does look like it's been well looked after , is it a straight fit to the mk3 ?
Ford Capri 2.0 Laser 1987 Mercury Grey .......
Re: Wanted MK2 grille (longshot)
It does need a quick lick of paint and the letters need touching up, but nothing major. All the lugs are fully intact and so are all the honeycomb bits.
As far as I'm aware it's not a straight fit to the MK3, I think there's two little metal mounting points for the MK3 grille that have to be bent backwards or cut off in order for it to fit and the old grille fix clips have to be moved over into different holes but other than that they fit the same.
