..mine occasionally sticks and sounds stupid. Does anyone have one?
Would the indicator relay sticking mean the indicators would be on constantly?

Re: Indicator relay
Surely Tom, you can just get out of the car when it happens and take a look?Major_Tom wrote:..mine occasionally sticks and sounds stupid. Does anyone have one?

Re: Indicator relay
I've got the relay.
Re: Indicator relay
Whenever I've tried to replicate it parked up it never happens! It's only when I'm at a junction or roundabout. And I haven't had anything suitable in front of me to see the reflection in.. so ah cannae tell.
Thanks Martin will be in touch.

Ah, I see. Thought there would be an explanation!
Re: Indicator relay
Cars are great at that little trick, waiting until you pull up, or get to a garage, or are otherwise free to examine and they stop whatever it is they were doing. Naughty, crafty machines. The other classic one is when you can hear something in the cabin, clear as day, but when you open the bonnet you can't hear it at all

Random problems which don't appear when you want them to. Yes, complete pain! Same in the computer world, a problem you can summon up on command is far easier to fix than an occasional one.

Re: Indicator relay
Just had the same problem on mine, somehow water had got into it and there was rust flakes jamming up the relay contacts.
You could try prising the top cover off (Where the terminals are) and giving it a good clean with contact cleaner and a soft bristled toothbrush.
Or if you need a new one, the part you want is part number 68 125. There may be other part numbers that would work but that's what mine had on.
In the end I got one off ebay for about a fiver. They're black and on the top is the ford logo and "Blinkgeber" (German for blink-giver, I guess it's a bosch part)
Other 3 terminal flasher relays would probably work, but don't try using a lucas one as the pins are in different places and you'll blow the fuse. (Ask me how I know...)
Hope that helps
