2.8i Petrol tank

Post by turd_polisher »

So after rust repairs, complete brake overhaul, new diff, thermostat, crossmember, steering rack, lower suspension links and mucking on with the injection system; my car decides to reward me with a hole in the tank. Fantastic
I've had the car a year and done about 300 miles in it

That's enough ranting, anyone got a spare 2.8 tank?
Thanks

Hi,
The Capri Club are soon going to introduce a line of new repro fuel tanks. No word on price yet though.

Andrew.

I have couple of tanks in Surrey, collection only.

1 is 2.8i vgc, 1 is 2.8i rusty inside.

I also have a vgc pinto one.

Might be sold already, but nothing concrete yet, so if interested, let me know....

Not on here very often, so won't see PM, please use regular mail johnocapriman (at) outlook.com

How big is the hole? I've heard you can fix a small leak by using Plastic Padding Chemical Metal.

Alternatively

All the best

Surrey is a bit far, I'm in Edinburgh
I've not seen exactly how big the hole is, but it made a mess pretty quickly when I filled the tank. Might be best to leave it until the new tanks are available.
Thanks for the help

That is a fair old drive....Maybe leaking from the seam?

I brimmed my 280 tank years ago and quite a bit overspilled from the tank :wank:
