Could you please check that part number ...
First generation Mk2 Capri parts specifically created for the marque should have part numbers starting 74EB

However... 'Facelift Mk2, ie 78 series, what people call mk3s is first year of introduction 1978 ... ie 78EB

I am looking for a pair of 74 Mk2 irons, and the associated corner brackets, so need to be sure this is what I am looking for

cheers Bud

Hi,

You may well be correct, there is one for sale on e-bay it is identical but the other hand and that is up as a MK3 item, and the part number is only one down from this one making it correct for the other hand.

So it looks as though in 1980 my local ford dealer (Kirbys) sold me the wrong one as I had a MK2 1600 XL a 1974 model with chrome bumpers, so the bumper was correct but the bracket was for the MK3, what a bummer, bit late to take it back, Kirbys Ford dealership closed many years back.

Sorry for the wrong write up, I will ammend.

Sorry to all that had hoped it was a MK2.
