I never mentioned you, you have your ideas, I have mine. attitude has nothing to do with it. If you knew me, which you obviously don't you would know that I will help anyone as much as I can, have done for years and will continue to do so. If you can manage without that then O.K there's no need to throw a paddy over it. I didn't ask anyone else to comment, they could have agreed with you but they didn't - is that my fault?
Sorry if you've got grief, it wasn't my intention for it to happen.

Yes, it's very tight. You can't get the box out without removing the crossover pipe.If you're having trouble getting one I can give you the number of a guy who has done a couple for me over the years when we have done turbo conversions. Excellent quality stainless tailor made to fit the car.

Its not grief mate its just comments like 'so called expert thinks he knows better' 'being lairy' really piss me off when all I did is make a simple enquiry. You say you never mentioned me but you was hardley refuring to roger rabbit.

Ive read a lot about you over the two main cappa forums recently and you sound like a top respectable bloke who does know what hes talking about. ITs more than likely the case ive had parts off you in the past or possibly in the future. I respect what you do mainly for reasons you stated in another topic. The capri would be dead and burried without people like you.

I never argued over the price of what you was selling I just said what I personally wanted for the money and left it at that. My car isint my everyday car so im never (usually) in a rush for parts. Ive got a mint S interior in the car now that only cost me £45 in total because I bought it in bits from various sources so made a massive saving.

I apologise for my atitude but I hope you can see why I flew off the handle

Cheers

AndyH

Apology accepted although it wasn't necessary. I've been getting a lot of shit recently on another forum and I just can't understand what peoples problem is. I'm afraid I caught your post at a bad time and just let rip - that's what I tend to do, if I think something then I tend to say it.
I'm thinking these forums are bad news for me. I have a great depth of knowledge of the Capri and stupidly thought that it might benefit members while adding to my customer base. Looks like i've dropped a bollock it seems.

Yes a number would be good, thanks. I had the stainless crossover pipe I currently have custom made, based on the original TT item, but the guys that did it need a pattern to create one that will fit the new configuration, which is a lot easier said than done. You'd think you could just tell them to allow another inch clearance, but apparently not. I'm talking about P.D.Gough.

I'll get you the number tomorrow. I had one of my turbo technics exhausts done at P D Gough years ago, lovely job, had to drive the car then wait for them to hand make it to fit the car.

Yes they do a good job. My car wasn't drivable at the time, so I mailed them the old stuff, which they used as a pattern.

Hi, thanks, I'm in Aldershot, Hants. I've made up a temporary pipe using the original TT item with some extra pipe to make it reach. It blows a little, but could travel a little (I think  ). What does he charge?

The most important thing to remember when using a forum is that text is very emotionless and detached, it's easy to misunderstand or misinterpret what someone means, it's easy to think someone was joking when they weren't (this happened between me and Daisy the other day and we've known each other for four years!), it's easy to think someone was saying something in a certain way, it's easy to feel under attack, and before you know it, BAM, pages and pages of argument based on some distant misunderstanding.

The second most important thing to remember, which everyone involved has done, is accept responsibility and apologise. Rise above it and get zen-like and calm and matter-of-fact when things begin to look ugly. It's just so easy to argue online, or on a phone with text, or email, but that's the nature of the written word, rarely the nature of the person.

Gough quoted nearer double that and that wouldn't include exp joint :)

They are too far to take the car to as well.
