WANTED: NS 1/4 window trim (non opening window)

Post by rich_jc »

Hi there,

I quite desperately need the piece of trim that goes above the rear quarter window on the near side. Windows are the non opening type.

Many thanks

Sorry to hijack the thread here....

Essexboy, how did you remove the bits in the bottom pic? I've got as far as seeing that I have to remove the rivets on the end, but then what? I'm trying to remove them so I can clean them up and tidy the body up a bit.

Again, sorry to hijack, but it just seemed like ideal timing with the pics bieng there and all.

Dibs on those trims essex boy! I can't view the pic at work, but from what Caedes says, they sound like the ones.

Caedes, to remove the trims you do as you say, drill out the rivets on the B pillar. The bottom trim is held in place by 2 or 3 slot in pieces and a screw. The top piece by 2 or 3 screws which you access by peeling back the headlining inside the car (you have to remove the top inner trim IIRC). Undo all the screws, the top piece should come away. I got the bottom piece off by twisting the top towards me as I was facing it, then using a little brute force to pull it out of the retainers. A bit of WD will probably help.

Dont do what I did and pull it all hard assuming any fastener/retainer will just break and that you can bodge it back on later. I did, hence this thread!

The outside ones mate, and I only need the near side (i worked out how the remove the off side properly!). Are they definately from a non-opening window cappa?

How much do you want mate?

Cheers
